I have been in the martial art world since I was eight years old. I am almost 58 years old. I have only met three people I would trust to teach my children. Marcelo Garcia is one of them. Too many people in the martial art world are just in it for the money or ego. I was lucky when I was eight years old I was trained in Judo for three years. You can never get that training today. The pure dedication of the man who trained me and my brother was unbelievable. My brother and I still talk of this man fifty years later. He was a marine stationed in Japan and came home to the USA to teach us. If you can find a good instructor in this day and age - good luck. BJJ is now too popular. The popularity is hurting BJJ. Unfortunately, Judo now has become too much like a sport. That is the way BJJ is going the self-defense gets less and less taught.
