What a role model. This guy was a methodical athletic super-machine with a sharp mind who worked hard. No wonder he burned himself out by age 26. For me there are only two greatest players of all time: Borg and Federer.

Fantastic! Great insight into one of the most brilliant tennis minds ever. You can tell he is a very logical and rational person. Thank you so much for posting this and part 1!

There's a photo somewhere of him walking around the grounds outside centre court at Wimbledon in his prime. He is surrounded by thousands of people and you can see the thrill on their faces, they are transfixed. He had that very, very rare quality of being someone you literally cannot take your eyes away from. That is given to very few people, Elvis, David Bowie and Marlon Brando, he is in that sort of company. It is not a quality given to many sportsman. Mike Tyson at his peak possibly, and Ali, that's about it. He was extraordinary.

Ele e Connors, na minha opinião, revolucionaram o tênis mundial. Cada um a seu estilo, mas sempre carismáticos e determinados.

The Spanish players looked so sad in these days when Borg was at his top. Now it is the Swedish players.

Borgs forehand was straight forward exactly like table tennis forehand but his back hand was odd i still to this day can not hit a two hand backhand, and back when i was 14, 15 years old wooden rackets were common therefore i would slice my backhand a habit i still have to this very day, Because rackets are powerful now days you will only come to the net on a powerful approach shot other wise you will get blitzed by a passing shot

Rafael Nadal has shown he is the greatest clay court player ever. He has also won titles at the AO and US Open, which Borg never did. Borg was admired and respected, but I don't know if he was loved the same way as Rafa is, who radiates warmth and friendliness. Borg was a colder and more repressed character, imo.

Nonsense. Tennis players back then were as popular as rock stars or Hollywood actors. When Borg was 18 he couldn´t go out on the streets of New York. People were like crazy whenever he showed up.
