A good budget EV, now with a decent range as well. Well done MG.

I "upgraded" my Dacia Spring too with JBL Speakers and with an JBL flat subwoofer under the seat and an specialist made also sound deadening. There is a huge difference!!! It made the car at 110km/h 7 DB less and in the city with 50km/h 11 DB less! Everything with the sound system, sound d. materials and work was less than 1000 euros but it worth every euro cents! Here in Hungary is usual to sound deadening the EVs, specialy the Teslas and Hyundai Kona and the Kia e Niro. When i drove the MG ZS ev, it was "loud", the windows are too thin, and the sound deadening materials are missing, just in material is it a few hundred euros, but it makes it much more luxurious, much comfortable, you feel the doors are heavier, and everything have this deep, heavy "sound" what makes it feel like a "premium" car.

Is the sound deadening/damping a kit or what do they do? I suspect that in Norway (or Denmark where I live) it will not be a cheap upgrade due to labor costs, but sounds interesting

@@TueChristensenDK company, specialized just for sound deadening, they cover the inside and outside under the plastics and metal parts.

Yes, MG4 will be interesting, box test as well as range test and comfort. In Europe mostly driving SUVs, but they are not as efficient like hatchbacks and station wagons.

Strange, they gave you a facelift ZS with the old pre-facelift wheels and smaller tires. The facelift has 215/55-15 instead of 215/50-17 as your test vehicle has. Might be the reason for the incorrect speedo and milage reporting??
@Blindusek2 жыл бұрын
I hope your being sarcastic, but Carscanner does not missreport. The Battery is never fully charged on many cars. You have the option in Carscanner(for MEB) "State of Charge BMS" and "state of Charge Display"
@pezomarko2 жыл бұрын
here you have 2 different batter SoC on car scanner, neither of which match the display state, one was expected to match display as you said: "state of Charge Display" hence "misreport"

Does the lack of regen in cruise control mode affect range much, compared to say the e-niro? I use the CC to avoid speeding fines.

260Wh/km @ 120km/h it's a 2.1666 consumption/speed ratio. 190Wh/km @ 90 km/h it's a 2.1111 consumption/speed ratio. What gives? Energy consumption at 120km/h is rising almost insignificantly (2.6%) with speed when compared to 90km/h. Are those numbers right? Help me out understanding this, please. The numbers on the 44.5kWh model make a lot more sense: Same 2.16666 consumption/speed ratio (195/90) at 90 km/h but 2.45833 consumption/speed ratio (295/120) at 120km/h which is a 13.5% penalty in efficiency.

Overreporting distance: maybe be this car has a different tyre size..My 2022 ZSEV SR is overreporting speed due to GPS by only 1 Km/h (standard tyresize 215/55-17). Good test and it matches the everyday driving experience with my car, however the SR LFP battery coldgates more than this LR NCM version.

Hi Bjorn, did you have ‘loudness’ selected in the sound options, it does really enhance the bass and gives it a slightly better ceiling
@bjornnyland2 жыл бұрын
No
@decimal1815 Жыл бұрын
loudness setting doesn't tend to extend the range of the loudspeakers, so won't add any 'real' low frequency but just give the frequencies around the low cut-off point a boost. If you add a sub, you'll get more frequencies below 80Hz

Hi Björn. Would you know how much the additional weight of batteries affected the performance? Mainly acceleration. I assume top speed should be the same due to the drivetrain final ration but I could be wrong. Just wonder if they just add the batteries or do the change other settings to suit new battery. In Kona or Niro bigger battery comes with a stronger motor to deal with the additional weight and create a Premium car feeling (car is much more expensive in the 64kWh trim so it make sense to add stronger electric motor to match the price). Thanks for all. Peter

I would personally buy neither and wait. Electric vehicles within 2 - 4 years should be much more refined, competitive, cheaper and have a lot more supply across the whole market (used and new). For example the BMW i4 rwd 80kwh is fantastic and it still is on an ICE platform. While the new Ioniq 6 looks to be phenomenal. Tesla has it's advantages like power train, batteries and infotainment hardware/software, but funnily enough suffers such poor build quality on basic things that legacy automakers have long figured out.

The worst electric car I know. I’ve driven now 45k kilometers with it and will never buy an MG anymore…….. The software is rubbish, driving aids are undrivable….. Range is insufficient for “long range”…… No heat pump…… App makes contact with central server instead of the car, and is at many times unreachable…… There is no built in timer for pre-heating…… And so on, and so on……
