You gotta Spartacus this. Get another slightly different Bert Mabers costume and get another painter to don the original Bert Mabers costume and moniker when turning in their mini. Then you turn in yours as Burt Maberz. Every year convince another painter to join as a slightly different Bert/Burt/Bjort. Eventually a horde of Berts will descend on every serious painting competition.

I use a variation of the jar, I use some sort of Tupperware with a clip-on lid that is not made of a brittle material. Rather than using a power-drill I bring along one of those small hand drills that can hold different bits. Also bring a roll of painters tape to prevent the lid from popping off 🙂

Fun fact, mason jars are similar in size to camera lenses. This is important because companies make camera bag inserts that are foam walled bags designed to protect your camera and lenses when they are in a normal bag or backpack.

Can't post a link here, but "Information Capacity of the Thumb and the Index Finger in Communication" is on researchgate. For their study information delivery of the thumb is higher ;)
