I am at loss of words to describe my feelings in respect of Manipur State which is one of the most beautiful states of the north east. I have the privileged to visit this beautiful state way back in 1982-83 via Kohima, Nagaland and what strike me most was the beautiful landscape, the moderate climate and the hospitality of the people. Travelled all the way to Churachandpur and was overwhelmed with the unity in diversity. That was before our politicians start thinking only of their vote banks, I believed. Very very sad to see this beautiful state mired in ethnic violence. May the Almighty bring peace and harmony amongst all the people of Manipur. JAI HIND

However, it seems this is being played on to its advantage. Also the Kuki tribal leaders, scholars are openly denying, and they say No peace, until their first and foremost demand is made, Separation, in order words, to break Manipur, denounced the idea of Manipur, and have their own autonomy, separate themselves or form Greater Mizoram.
