Jag uppskattar så mycket att du inte som många andra, försöker låta som en fulländad expert på allt, utan att du bara är en grym ödmjuk tekniker som löser saker eftersom. Tycker du gör det väldigt bra med engelskan också! Har själv försökt instruera med teknisk engelska ”on the fly” och helt plötsligt känns det som man går i 4:e klass. Tack för filmerna!

Good to see someone take apart the oil pump 😎 The keys used are square feather edge. Not a woodruff key as they are semi circular👍

The dots are important for the gear faces /sides to match. This maintains proper side clearance to prevent leakage, which is more important than tooth to tooth alignment.

I recently bought a new vag oil pump for my G40. I opened it to inspect prior to assembly. Expected to see the dots both facing out as per all the other oil pumps I’ve opened. In this instance the fixed gear on the shaft had the dot facing out, but the other one was facing in. Is it possible an error was made in assembly or were they intentionally installed like that to maintain correct lash? All the other pumps I’ve ever opened had both dots facing out.

Contact RE Performance (on KZbin too) in the UK, they do refurbish kits for the dry sump pump if I remember correctly. Loving the videos too 👍🏻👍🏻👌🏻👌🏻

The dots on the gears are for orientation. On one side, the gears will have a minor chamfer to clear corners in the casting.

I was quite confused what the oil pump was on your Instagram story. I was sure it was a dry sump oil pump, but I thought you only had aftermarket ones. I had never seen the inside of a factory one. I really like seeing teardown of things like this to understand how they work. Thanks

The dots are for indicating side, not for aligning, if they were for aligning one would be on the tip the other on the dip of the gear.

Use can sniffer to know what module signals are necesarry, and then program some kind of standalone module to send the signals. Example: tcu: arbags are you ok? the module responds with a "Yes i'm definately airbag module, heres what youre asking, im ok" while the real airbag module is in an ebay listing....

Våran R8 GT3 så får man renovera efter 20000km och då byter dom mycket ventiler mm. Vid 40000km så byter dom i princip allt utom block topparna samt vevaxeln. Vid 60000km så är motorn förbrukad. Så det borde finnas många beg. Kanske ABT har några

I would have put bigger exhaust valves in, boost will help it flow more on the inlet, once the inlet valve is shut the exhaust valve is the one you really need to flow

I had my b230 head ported and installed 40/46mm valves on it and the valve seat fell out while driving, i brought it back too the people that did the work and they told me my valves were ruined because of too stiff valvesprings (41-46)kg I cant understand how some stronger valvesprings can ruin the valvestem

Too strong springs can deform the cotter grooves and drop a valve

A max effort NA engine is terrible for high horsepower turbo applications. Light weight rods/pistons/low friction rings with tight end gaps etc are all fine for NA but they aren’t made for big turbo torque and cylinder temperatures/pressures.

Get rid of that fragile engine and all the hideous wiring...put an old school V10 Viper engine in with and 2 turbos and make reliable 1800hp....with 2 valves per cyl and pushrods and 220mph top speed...simple eh?....🤣
