And their workers are professional, BJs often has workers who should not work with any humans other than those that have no emotions. I switched to Costco and love it, plus the prices are often lower, and the workers are cordial and professional.

We have memberships in Sam’s club, Costco and BJ’s. Of all 3, we think the prices are lower at Sam’s here in central Florida. We go to Sam’s more often because it is closer and usually not too busy. Our closest Costco is always wildly busy no matter what time we visit. Our closest BJ’s is close to an hour away so we rarely go there. I do love the large cheese selection and various other things at BJ’s. They are rarely very busy or out of stock of products. Each store has its pros and cons.

Both have their strengths. Don't forget BJ's is about half the size (number of stores) as Costco and Sam's. There are Sam's clubs 599, Bj's warehouse 240, and Costco 591 thats just in USA. Buying power counts. I am sure with Walmarts and Sam's club being related it helps them with buying power.

In the comments there are some good reviews for BJs. Either they bought, or BJs (depending on the community where the BJs is at) gives top class service to one ethnic group and inferior services to other ethnic groups.

I got a good deal on a BJs membership this year and I've been loving it. They have automatic sale prices and coupons as well. They also always send me just $ off coupons. I def look through the ads before I shop though because prices vary month to month. Also the gas prices at BJs have been nice they are always the cheapest in my area. But everyone is different and has different preferences.

Where I live there is only a sams which is 5 minutes away. I always do self check out at the register they have one lane open with a human. Two people to check receipts at door. Probably 10 self check outs. The food court is always busy but line moves fast. Currently fully stocked with no limits. Just lifted a limit on chicken breast packages. But I would love the option of Costco, which has more organic foods.

Here on the Big Island of Hawaii we have, 1 Costco on the other side of the island maybe an hour’s drive away. That’s it! Lol! I WISH I could have some other big box store to price compare.🤷🏻‍♀️ LOL! BJ’s has Express Pay, so you don’t need to wait in line. I never clip the paper coupons any more and just clip them on the app. The BJ’s near me only has a little clothing, other stores have more clothing than the one we frequent. I think I’d like Sams but it’s too far from me to even consider getting a membership.

We have absolutely no BJ’s near us. I’m not sure if there is one in the state of Georgia. However, we go across the Florida line to Costco and we love to shop there. They have an amazing selection and no sales tax on food. We do have a Sam’s membership too and we enjoy going there as well. Sam’s is a bit closer but we like Costco better. I also order from Azure. I think they plan it that way! We had both memberships for awhile because of that but eventually switched to Costco for a couple of reasons. The Costco was more on my route of travel so it wasn’t an extra trip and wasted gasoline. I also purchase almost exclusively organic items and Costco has a better selection. Prices are always more for organic but at Costco it is cheaper than the grocery or health food stores.

In February or March this year I joined Costco because of the Kirklands brand diapers and dog food. They are ok diapers but my dogs hated the food 😂. My husband and I agreed that we’ll be canceling our Costco membership next year.

BJ’s has free pickup, unlike Sam’s charging if your have a basic membership. They also have scan and go. They have food court with hot dogs pretzels but no pizza, you can always compare prices and get the best price at Sam’s or BJ’s however for me it is always cheaper at BJ’s usually without coupons.

Interesting! We have the middle membership with sams so it’s free to pickup. But I’ve never seen a good place in BJs before. We have gone to two so far (one awhile ago, and then this one.)

I’ve never been to a Sam’s club, but we have done memberships at BJ’s and Costco and I MUCH prefer Costco over BJ’s. They just seem to have a lot more options of things our family actually uses, plus in our area you can get Costco delivery through Instacart so I don’t even have to deal with the crowds of the drive. I do want to check out Sam’s, though!

OMG, what is funny is I just moved to NOVA and came here because I cannot get on board with BJs, but it's closer than Sam's, so I am researching comparisons. I cannot do Costco because they don't carry the brands my kids like, and they don't have Scan and Go. At least not when I used to shop there. Is it easier for you to go to Sam's in Richmond (I assume that's the one you were referring to in Central Va). I hate asking my hubby to stop on his way home because he complains about traffic, which is also something we aren't used to. Anyways. Thank you for the video.

We don’t have BJs in our state so I can’t compare. We live about a 5 minute drive from Costco and about a 15 minute drive from Sams Club. As far as our Sams goes, living in Southern California, the stores are always packed. Costco is about the same. We have both Sams and Costco memberships. As far as comparing them….Sams has more snack options and Costco has more food (meal type options) I like Costco for certain things and Sams for certain things so they are both great for us. Hearing this video, I’m kind of glad we don’t have BJs lol. The Horizon milk is expensive. That is the norm. I used to get it for my son when;he was little and I needed shelf stable to take into Disneyland with us. Even the 6 packs are ridiculous.

We only have Costco and Sam's close by. By close I mean an hour each way. I prefer Sam's. Mostly because if it's busy it still feels less crowded than Costco, they have scan and go, they have pick up, they also don't make the online prices higher than in store, and when you have the upgraded membership it's really free shipping. Our Sam's does have lines always but the other stuff makes up for it. My husband won't go into Costco on a weekend if he can help it (I feel similar) but he is willing to go into Sam's.

I've never seen a BJ'S b4. Costco is way to far away, like 4 hrs. We go to Joplin Missouri to their Sam's Club. Currently we don't have a membership. My dresser got to full 🤣🤣🤣 I love the clothes ❤️ We just always go to the Joplin one becuz my family live right on the edge of Missouri Arkansas Oklahoma and Kansas. Just go on a little ramp thing and boom depends which one ya took as to what state you're in lol kinda like that anyway. The farm is on 400. And all around that area is home. So when we go that way 1st is family visit and I get in trouble if they find out I drove by without even a call. Lol

Based on my terrible experiences at BJ's , I would have to, by default, go with Sams Club. Bjs doesn't seem to have appropriate supervision. Lots of rude workers, some want to fight customers, and loss of complaints. Further, although the BJS are clean, they sometimes have dangerous boxes hanging off edges and insufficient carts for customers. Costo is much better, and I'm (along with my staff and family) surprised that no one has sued Bjs and that the investors at the two firms that own Bjs, don't ensure that Bjs cleans up their unprofessionalism and dangerous stores. Maybe the investors don't know. BTW: I have only shopped in the Bronx, so it's possible (but unlikely) that other cities and states have better BJs, but I get the impression that since this is not the case, that BJs, brand is unprofessional and "gangster" and lacks compassion for many customers.

I agree bjs is a bit more expensive, but i find better personal preference items. They have only one type of membership. Good rewards. I believe they use local farms. Sams has 2 types of memberships. & top membership has free shipping & cash rewards- which ends up paying for the membership. I spend a little less. I grew up in Fredericksburg Virginia and traveled to Richmond to go to Costco then moved to Richmond and did get Sam’s membership and kept both for a few years but eventually stayed with Costco. I’ve moved back to Fredericksburg and enjoy a few different items at BJ’s but want to take trip to Richmond to go back to Sam’s cause it’s been over 20 yrs since I’ve been there. Wow, I’m old. 😂

We recently stopped at a BJ’s and I wasn’t impressed. The quality of items just was there, especially the fresh items. Some of the bulk prices were good but not enough to entice me. We used to have both Sam’s and Costco and are right in the middle of both for travel. We ended up keeping our Costco membership because they had more organic items than Sam’s. I have always had good results from Costco and never had a problem returning any their quality is excellent. Costco has instant savings, too.

I’ve always been a Sam’s fan but recently moved to an area that doesn’t have Sam’s or Costco nearby. We have BJ’s 10 minutes away so that’s where I end up. It’s ok, but I definitely prefer Sam’s. For reference BJ’s - 10 minutes ( a little more expensive), Costco 35 minutes( more unique and organic options), Sam’s 1hr and 15 min ( common items - less expensive). My husband LOVES Costco so we have a membership, BJ’s is close so we have a membership, Sam’s is near my daughters medical care and we are there every couple of months so membership; they also are great about shipping items and we get them quickly. Basically we aren’t saving any money after we pay for all the memberships 😂

We only have BJs and I love it. Maybe because I have nothing to compare it to lol. But prices are consistently better than Aldi and Walmart and I can get at least half of my weekly shopping done there. I do however wish we had a Costco just because I see the hauls people share here and they definitely sell things we use. If I could have both BJS and Costco I think I could do about 75% of my shopping between the two and then just fill in at Aldi or Trader Joe's

We have a BJ’s about a mile from our house. I prefer Sam’s Club but there is none here. We are in central Md and would have to go to PA. We do that when we visit my mother- in- law. I don’t have a membership but shop from moms. Our BJ’s used to have a snack bar but it went out because folks didn’t use it. They even tried a Dunkin’ Donuts there but it left also. I don’t think the Sam’s in Hanover, PA has one either. I think Sam’s has more variety in its selections then BJ’s.

As someone whose been a member of both, I do prefer Sam’s club overall in terms of variety and quality. That doesn’t mean BJs is bad. I think the discounts/coupons in BJs are stronger than Sam’s, at least in my area. I liked how you could add them through their app. I do get more out of Sam’s Club though by having their credit card. You can’t beat the 5% cash back on gas.

BJ’s prices are definitely by location. We have a BJ’s membership (in CT). The store we frequent has higher prices on items than other stores we’ve been to. It’s kind of crazy. If you have their app, you can switch between locations and you’ll see the price changes in your cart. I do it all the time. There’s only 1 Sams in CT, but it’s over an hour away from us. We do have a Costco membership that we got last year, but we’re not huge fans. We get some items, but we don’t understand what all the rave of Costco is for.

Good morning everyone!!! Here is my take on the 3. My husband loves BJs but the one here is 45 minutes away and the shelves were never full. BJs has a fresh deli a pro the con was the lunch meat lasted less then a week. They Donny have a lot of items I like. They use built a new one about 15 minutes away I need to check it out. My favorite is Costco ours in almost an hour away. I love everything about Costco the prices are higher because of where it is located. My Costco is always stocked to the gills and always full of people, but the line moves fast. SAMs Club we decided to get a SAMs membership last weekend because it has more then BJs yet less then Costco. We are going shopping sometimes this week to SAMs I have saved 400.00 to mainly stock up on meat. SAMs meat is good Costco is better lol. Can you see I love Costco. The SAMs here is about 20 minutes away always busy, the lines don’t move fast and a lot of business owners shop there so the have 2 or 3 flatbeds full of stuff. Right now we settled on SAMs and will see how good it is this weekend.

BJ’s is pretty expensive all around if you don’t know what to look for! A little too if you decide to use the app to get coupons. If there are two coupons for the same item both coupons will come off! Plus you can use a manufacturer coupon on top of that. Sometimes it works out and you can get some great deals!!
