I got exactly the same numbers, if you look at my reply on the "Quiz video". If you assume that the zener diode is in conduction, that 3.6 mA that appears at the base, (5-.7-.7) multiply that by the Beta, you end up at one of your multiple choice answers, 108 mA. It's not. I calculated the circuit, and ended up with a maximum current of ~19.8 mA. the transistor is still in saturation, because Rl is such a high value, and 5.36 is what I got at the collector.

When the Zener Diode is operating in the breakdown region, then the voltage across it will remain almost constant. In this case, it is 5V. The Anode is at -12V, so cathode will be at -12 + 5 = -7V. I hope it will clear your doubt.
