I work at a bike co-op as a mechanic and your videos have been a game changer for me. I've learned a ton of small and big things to make working on bikes faster, easier and better. Most of all, always lube your noodle! 😜 Thanks for all the tips and keep making videos! If you get a chance, do a bike with disc brakes. I'd love to see your approach.

The thing is, albeit small, a percentage of the population is crazy. When I was younger, I worked on what was then the largest cruise ship in the world. It had close to 3,000 passengers. No matter how normal everybody seemed, guaranteed, at least two people would not finish the cruise and would be arrested and taken off the ship at one of the ports. Without fail... EVERY SINGLE WEEK. When you deal with large numbers, it is just to be expected. As your channel grows, although it's a small percentage, more and more people you deal with will turn out to be crazy or just not right in their actions

Yes look at how Russ from path less pedaled does merch, it’s all little stickers and stem caps etc and then you get to feel cool that it has sayings from his channel. Like I would love to look down at a refurbished bike at a stem caps etc that says “good enough for who it’s for” or similar. Definitely room for more in that space.

I don't agree with his first "off-topic" video and only agreed with at most half of the second video. He conducted and presented his point articulate and polite, with the exception to the "trash-letting-themselves-out". That I totally agreed with :)) But faq... some people are weirdoe-nuts o.0 . Going after people ad-homonym and threats (especially fam) and not their argument and ideas is Not a great plan, especially if you have to co-habitate with them, like in the same state/country.

Dude, you are the most authentic person I’ve seen on KZbin. I appreciate your work AND your rants. You say some of the things I think on a daily basis. I understand not crossing the line because there are people who think you’re the enemy because your views don’t align with theirs. I hope someday soon people with opposing views will once again be friends, neighbors and family and not abhor hate. You inspire me to ride more and learn to repair my own bicycles and for that I thank you. Carry on BikeFarmer, carry on.

Andy, I'm so sorry that people came after your loved ones. That is horrible and inexcusable, for any reason. You make great content and I love your videos. I think you and I would disagree on many things politically, but I think as humans we could still find tons to talk about. One of the problems with all of this is folks who make politics their identity, which is unhealthy and dangerous no matter which "side" you're on. You have every right to say what you feel without threat. Your humble response to what you've learned through this shows a lot of character. I hope things calm down. I really enjoyed this one. Love your consideration for the end bike user and who that may be. Your comment at the end about parents not considering the right size bike for the kids really hit home. As an avid MTB 'cyclist' dad I was really excited about getting my daughter into riding (if she enjoyed it). I am a bit of a bike enthusiast (AKA snob) when it comes to my OWN bikes. To each his own and 100% love the bike you're on whatever that may be is my outlook. It's not what you ride but rather that you're riding that's important. Anyway I bought my daughter a lovely shiny new 1st pedal bike to follow on from her balance bike. And because it was new and not inexpensive I measured her inseam and got the biggest bike that would fit her properly, but I made one fatal flaw not considering the weight. My small 3 year old who was super confident on her balance bike couldn't pic up her new fancy bike unassisted. So flywheels had to be added to help her out. It wasn't a total wash and eventually she grew into the bike and it lasted quite a while but looking back now I would much rather have gone with a smaller, reliable, more cost effective 2nd hand bike that properly fit her from the get go, and swapped bikes out more often. It can never be overstated how important it is to have a bike that fits you properly. Finally, Andy, sorry to here about the negativity aimed at your family. Critical thinking seem to be in shorter and shorter supply these days. Felt the need to comment this week, if nothing else, to help with the pesky algorithm.

I enjoyed those recent rant videos. but I see things in a similar way as you do. Whoever started giving your family a hard time, wow....they need to get a life. All the best to you. Love your videos. All the best from my little home based workshop in Canada.

I think we the crazy bikes guys love the old Hard Rocks and Rockhoppers because they are classic 26ers and built well and you can find them cheap and they can be modern upgraded.

Keep being real, Andy. I know that there's toxicity out there, and that the "engagement hole" is A Thing™. I appreciate your candor, but don't put your family and friends in the crosshairs. As the late, great Pete Beers said: we should go for a bike ride! Cheers!

I agree with your politics. But glad this channel won’t be going into it anymore. It’s nice to have a place where we can come and watch and get away from politics. Keep up the great work!

Today I had to go on a scavenger hunt for my bike because some dumbass(me) forgot to latch in its tires when they put it on her trucks bike rack and it escaped. Found it and it’s now waiting for me to take it in for a rant stand session with my local bike shop. Your the reason I even knew to check to see how much the wheels and cassette where messed up. I’m here for the long haul more than likely if anything because you’re teaching me skills I probably need.

Not a bad idea. Data point - I didn't watch the second video. Headed the warning just because I was burned out on the election as a whole. Still here!! Love bikes, golf, stuff. Hate hate.

In these tune ups do you ever check out the suspension?

Hardly ever. As long as it squishes, it’s good enough for who it’s for. I’ve never had a custie bring it up. Like, never never.

i learned being in a factory that we had to keep respect for each other, if we went to far we lost our jobs. What that means is we are allowed to have a opinion but we are not allowed to hammer and tell people there view is wrong. Threats both to anybody or there familys got us a escort by security out the door forever.

I would say the golf talk is the most offensive thing about this channel 😉

Huh... Guess I have kinda marched to a different tune my whole life but the last "rant" video was what tipped me to becoming a member. People are sure strange. Anyway. Love you a bit my dude. Thanks so much. 🤠

I sold bikes in the 1990 and I remember one lady told me "I will never ride a bike with the word 'Hardrock' on it" like it was a dirty word!
