My childhood was not an easy one. My father was absent and verbally/mentally abusive, my brother was horrible and my mother was ill constantly. Most of the early memories I can remember are either arguing, being hit or hospitals. But one of the few things that got me through life was Toriyama, and the amazing world he had created with dragon ball. Seeing Goku and the rest of the Z Warriors press on through such tragedy gave me the strength I needed to get through my own trials and tribulations. Thank you, Toriyama, from the bottom of my heart. Thank you for creating this wonderful world and these wonderful characters, and for blessing the lives of so many across the entire planet. @@FernandoOficiall_ Damn. I just saw the videos from some DB content creators. I've seen a lot of people commenting about how Dragon Ball has impacted them, and I have to say, thank you Akira Toriyama. Even though I only got into Dragon Ball a couple years ago, the music and stories are timeless. The characters have been pretty inspiring to me, especially training to better yourself and never giving up despite the odds, to overcome whatever problem stands in your way. These stories and characters have helped inspire me to push myself harder and be the best person I can be. It really helped me to pass my exams to graduate high school, and they're inspiring me in college too. You never truly will be gone, as long as these characters and stories continue to inspire people to be their best and overcome the odds. I've been inspired by your work, and I will continue to be inspired in my life to never give up and better myself. Even though we can never be super saiyans, we can still work to become our strongest, try our best, find new friendships, and overcome our problems, to shatter our limits and be the best people we can be. Thank you Akira Toriyama for this timeless story of an alien monkey boy who grew up to become a legend. May you rest in peace as you begin your next adventure.👍

Thank you Toriyama. I know this is just me talking to myself, but I wanna feel like I'm talking to you, so here goes. My older brother and I never really got along when we were really little. As soon as he could play them, he was really into sports, and i was your typical indoorsy nerd. He was loud, aggressive, and funny, I tended to stay quiet. He never really bullied me or anything, but it was total personality clash, with him pushing me around just because of who he was and me being kind of weak-willed. As soon as we came across it, DBZ was something we both took to. We bonded over it right away - watching it together, playing the games together, going outside and pretending to be Vegeta and Goku (or, more often, Vegeta and Krillin, but I didn't mind being the comic relief.) It wasn't just something we both liked, we both took lessons from it. Seeing the weaker, or shyer characters manage to be brave encouraged me to be brave. Seeing Vegeta and Piccolo grow into kinder people encouraged my brother to take it easy on me. The themes of brotherhood, companionship, and trust are something that touched us both. We aren't best friends to this day or anything, we're too different - DBZ is basically the only nerdy thing he ever took interest in - but there's a trust between us, and a bond. A connection I can feel even when we just meet up every few months to have dinner as adults. Heck, the last time we did, we even talked about DBZ. His own kids have gotten into it, too, and I'm the cool uncle just for lending them my old toys. I feel like I owe it all to you, Toriyama. I'll cherish my memories with this series until the day I die. You're one of the greatest artists to ever live. Rest in peace, Akira Toriyama.

This song just genuinely gives me a sad/nostalgic vibe while listening to it, Dragon Ball GT was bringing back the adventure times when Goku traveled as a kid to get stronger and that's what this show did with 2 more characters. I don't understand why GT was getting massive backlash when it's purely amazing.
@monarh3907 Жыл бұрын
The content was great, but the structure was garbage besides baby arc there were so little episodes in each arc and most of the people watched it on dub which people didn't get the same vibe the original meterial was going for.
@alejoSOTOful Жыл бұрын
I agree, it was overall a great callback to the classic adventure days, and brought back previous story elements in interesting ways (except Android 17). Plus Red Monkey man Goku works so damn well both visually and narratively, it almost feels like original SSJ in terms of importance

Thank you so much Mr. Akira Toriyama. Thank you for bringing joy and memorable good feeling and made my childhood days awesome. Dragon Ball was one of my favourites growing up. Knowing that you left our world breaks my heart. That's life and we have to go on. I'm a 39 year old and yes still pretending to be a super saiyan. Thank you Sir! -Jay from Philippines

I swear to god man, this franchise changed my life. My discovery of Dragon Ball came around my middle school years, I didn’t have many friends at all so I always hung out in the library, a library which was awesome enough to have a whole manga section with the entirety of Dragon Ball, from DB to DBZ I read it all and loved it. Rest in peace Toriyama, you absolute legend. If anyone else wants to share how they got into the series I would love to know

I was rewatching dragon ball GT, i never skip the intro song, then the news of Toriyama passing away were all over my social medias, couldn't believe it myself, now I don't even dare to watch the final episodes of GT, hearing this song, seeing Goku flying away on Shenron's back... Knowing i've grown up, not a little kid anymore. Now a part of me is just crying inside, perhaps it's the inner child in me is crying. Thank you for everything Toriyama, thank you for giving us a beautiful childhood ❤

@candyvegitto13108 ай бұрын
Maybe it's not the main canon, but everything in the composite dragon ball verse is canon. Toriyama treats the GT story as an occurrrence from another dimension. It's basically a timeline where Beerus never did woke up.

It's not the main canon but is part of A canon. It's part of a multiverse which games like Xenoverse explain

I just watched Z, GT, and Super in this order. I honestly think GT is the most consistent of the three, has the best music, the most emotional scenes, the best ending, and overall a much better story than Super at least. All in all, I consider GT the best Dragon Ball despite its flaws.

@@shadmakhan112 LOL. Then your not really a DB fan. A real objective DB fan would say: DB GT ist the weakest of all. stated facts.

@@PisaroOne that doesnt even make sense you know everybody has an own opinion you cant say that because someone likes GT over Z or Super hes not a real Dragon Ball fan. i personally can only say that GT for me is prob the weakest of all the main series ( despite i haven seen classic yet but i will definetly watch it) but its still a really good show for me the astonishing soundtrack, emotional moments and Super Saiyan 4 just make this series so good i got goosebumps all over my body when i saw pan talking to goku and goku turning Super Saiyan 4.

This intro was one of the best of all Dragon Ball themes. Such a feel good song and is quite beautiful in its meaning. Reminds me of good times in life, and although GT wasn’t the favorite of all the DB/Z/GT/Super it had some good arcs which introduced SSJ4 (which I felt was a good transformation). Nostalgia at its best! 😊👍🏻

GT had some amazing ideas, however flawed their execution was, I can't help but feel that its a more natural continuation of DBZ. Super is good and all, but I can't shake the feeling that it just doesn't fit. SSB Gogeta is the coolest shit ever though.
