Rock Solid Trail Contracting is hard at work again on another set of Monument Trails, this time at Devil's Den State Park. This place was the original mountain bike destination in Arkansas and it's getting an amazing overhaul.

This is, in my humble opinion, the best mountain biking channel on KZbin. While I can appreciate other channels who have some crazy visuals, this channel adds the dialog which adds another level to the ride. For instance, listening to this guy who was awarded a million dollar contract for trail building is eye opening. I cannot imagine the logistics behind all of that but he goes into some of the leg work like staying up until midnight doing paperwork and payroll. These are excellent points to learn about because while we have the privilege of riding these trails, we never know what went on to achieve the end result. Thank you for sharing these videos. I subbed.

I’ve been mountain biking since I was a kid, and have a hobbyist trail builder since my teenage years. The organized effort that AR is putting into making their state an Mtb destination is quite remarkable. This trail is super impressive. Incredible incorporation of natural features. Hats off to the builders and some forward thinkers making it possible in AR.

Little bragging point: When chatting about pursuing the thing you love as a career move - my nephew was drafted by the San Francisco Giants this year (2021) after being named Player of the Year, Player of the Conference and All-American at Northeastern University. He broke numerous records and is already assured his place in the Hall of Fame. The point being that if a small town kid with a dream can work hard enough and stay focused enough to a passionate degree, then anyone can. Pursue that which you love and you will never work a day in your life.

Speaking of ticks be careful with those little suckers. My son and I now cannot eat any red meat due to lone star ticks. Both of us have become highly allergic to red meat solely from being bit by one of them. Good news is it does eventually work it’s way out of your system just takes 3-5 years for it to do it. As long as you don’t get bit by another that carries the stuff that causes it.

I have lost a few spoke nipples' . I think some of that was from riding a wobbly tire but looking at the nipples that broke they look to be made of a non ferrous metal and seem quite weak . I found some nipples' on my old daughters first bike from Walmart over 20 years old and the nipples fit my bike . They are steel and solid . save on a pin worth's of weight and loose on dependability of the wheel . Spokes breaking is not a good sign the wheel was not built properly . maybe a warranty on it .
