Looks like a decent little shovel - not sure about those extra lugs but then again I've never had a shovel with those lugs on it. I reckon that Kingdigger / JD Stainless spade I got an age ago will see me good for a few more years and it has survived frozen pasture and being run over (and straightened back out with a sledgehammer). The amount I go detecting now even a crappy wooden shaft, plastic handle Draper spade would last me for several years, lol

Nice one buddy looks and feels a great bit of kit especially with the proper handle I'm sure we will give it a proper roasting through the winter to see how it fares . Fubar

great review video craig mate :)) ...seemed to do the job on that frozen ground ...there are two things i would like to see on a shovel ...one is a notch on the handle so you can rest your detector on it and some kind of belt hanger so you don't have to carry it all the time

They're great little spades for arable, but I really need them to be 10" or 12" longer.. I know its a little extra weight but I'd rather carry a bit more than be getting backache from bending and digging hundreds of holes. A definite improvement on the ubiquitous micro shovels though, they're both short and inefficient due to the angle of the blade.. Personally I think the blades not wide enough on these black adas to dig pasture plugs efficiently and quickly but they're perfect for arable 'scooping'
