Here we go again with the Jimin effect. I swear, so far, they react pretty similarly when Jimin appears at 2:35. And BTW, man, all men and women love BTS. There is a significant portion of males in BTS's audience compared to other boy bands. BTS is not your typical boy band and that is not just because of their looks. You'll see why as you continue. And actually, Jimin's visuals are very popular among men. The majority of reactions about Jimin's visuals come from men and they say the same thing, "coming from a straight guy", "I'm a straight man", "no homo", etc. I just watched several reactions about this MV and when they react about their looks, they react particularly to Jimin. When you listen to other Kpop groups, you'll understand why BTS are the ones reaching the #1 on each charts and setting worldwide records. They're just different from the others. I have followed them since there debut. There is so much to BTS than just there looks sweetheart . They are the real deal in singing and producing and yes they do rap. BTS is so global, I'm not sure it is entirely fair to call them Kpop anymore (although many people still do). I mean, take Butter for example. What about it makes it "kpop" rather than "pop" besides the fact that it is being sung by Koreans? They started in the Korean kpop industry, but they have never liked labels or being put in a box. =) As a few other people have mentioned, they do a lot of different styles of music, so you will pretty quickly discover that every song sounds pretty different. They also currently have only two fully English songs, so generally be sure to have your subtitles on for their music videos, because they will usually be in primarily Korean (or sometimes Japanese). Rap is popular in Korea and you'll find on your kpop journey that most groups have a mix of vocals and rapping. That being said, I genuinely believe BTS have the best rap line in the industry. Suga and RM (two of the rappers) both rapped in Korea's underground hip hop scene prior to joining BTS. Suga initially intended to sign with the label as a songwriter/producer, not as a member of a kpop group. (He jokingly says the CEO of their company tricked him into it.) The third rapper, J-Hope, learned rapping after joining BTS, but prior to that he was an extremely talented street dancer, so he was well familiar with rythmn and hip hop. If you go back to their really early music (they debuted in 2013) you'll find that their songs are *very* heavily rap focused rather than vocals. Over the years they have expanded considerably from their heavy hip hop roots and have tried out almost every genre out there now. If you want to explore their rap some more, each of the rappers also have their own solo self-produced mixed tapes with a lot of fire songs. Suga does his solo work under the name AgustD, and I would recommend checking out the music video for his song Daechwita. If you like rap, I think you will really enjoy it. (Just remember subtitles!) If you'd like to see some significantly more aggressive dancing, I would recommend the groups music video On, Kinetic Manifesto.

I'm thinking that if you watched them performing ON at Grand Central for Jimmy Fallon which they did live in Feb 2020,just before the pandemic started to spread,or the MV ON Kinetic Manifesto Film which is the same song/choreo you will get to see how good BTS vocals,rap,dancing and lyrics(click CC for English subs)are.They're amazing and can do everything,singing,song writing,composing,producing. I’ll give you a quick summary of why BTS is huge . Their huge because they aren’t your normal kpop group . Not even your normal boyband . Bts fans sometimes don’t like to put bts with kpop or boyband categories even tho they are the biggest boyband / kpop group in the world right now . Mainly because of how different they are to other groups, western artists and the term “ boyband “ comes with insults and stereotypes such as people thinking they don’t write their own music, only for teens etc. So BTS is is acronym for the korean name “BANGTAN Sonyeondon”. Which translates to “BULLETPROOF BOY SCOUTS “ That name has a meaning . Basically bts is a group that wants to use their music and platform to spread positivity and connect with people of all race and gender while teaching people music has the power to transcend and translate messages regardless of your race , age or gender . They also go by “beyond the scene” or Bangtan boys . This is something kpop fans and Armys always want to teach people especially since kpop groups tend to get a lot of racist hate comments sometimes because of their looks , called girls and other homophobic insults . Over the years BTS has tackle topics in their music such as mental health and suicide ( taboo topics in Asian culture ) anxiety, loneliness, politics , women’s empowerment , Domestic Abuse , government , pursing your dreams and not living somebody else dream , differences between old and younger generation , motivation to youth , socio-economics , self love , self care and struggles and motivating people , Etc . they want their music to connect anyone regardless of your age : kids , teens , adults , elders etc Also bts fanbase actually a lot more diverse in age and gender then you think . Majority of the fans are over 21 despite how many screaming girls you see on Social media. I’m 24 , kpop fan since high school. My co workers in their 20s, 30s and 40s are fans . Both male and female . Even John cena is a fan lol. Me personally I love them also because they contribute a lot to Asian representation since there a lack of Asians in American media , entertainment etc BTS is also known for contributing to charities and causes. They donated 1 Million Dollars to Black Lives Matter and the Armys ( bts fandom name) donated 1 million dollars as well in just 24Hrs. Total of 2million was donated. The Armys also take part in creating their own projects naming it after the members such as planting trees , donating money to children hospital , canned food drives and many more . Overall BTS is huge because they work hard to show people Music has the power to transcend and translate messages regardless of race , gender, religion, language or age. Hi, some things about this boys. *Bts Is south Korean group, this days people prefer don't mix them with the term "kpop". Kpop isn't a genre, Kpop is an industry in Korea that create music for kids/adolescents, and not all singers/rappers/musicians in Korea are "kpop" 1. They are 7, 4 vocalist, 3 rappers (2 underground rappers) all dancers 2. Bts compose and produce in all their albums, so is very personal, they sing about mental health, politics, society, their fans, self love, etc 3. They have a story behind their videos so is difficult to new people understand, we (the armys) used to read and search to understand the link in their videos. Their last album for example was "map of the soul: 7" and is inspired by the psychologist book the map of the soul by Carl Jung. 4. The army love them because they are good people who started from a company in bankruptcy, and even being famous they stay humble. 5. They have a lot of genres but their base is very hiphop / rap. Also you can find subtitles in every possible language thanks to the fans, u only need to search with the name of the song or Activate cc. **Bts always present themselves as a Korean group, and always said they don't want to be labeled in a genre or industry. The fans also do not want to be mixed with kpopers, (most of us aren't kpop fans) we don't have the same ideals. Not because we like a group from korea that means we like all from that country.

Don't let that k-pop label fool you. BTS is not only best k-pop, they right now best selling artist in a world. In 2020 Out of top 10 best selling albums in a world 3 were BTS albums. Of which one is in Japanese. BTS is global. Just look up their MV comment section and take for example any other huge artist comment section. You will see who is actually artist for Global audience.

You are right these songs do make you wanna dance I caught myself doing that every time I listen to them. You should also react to Permission to Dance. And all of their songs before this one. Also try to react to jimin and jungkook's solo songs.

Ha ha yes they rap. And they dance, that's what pulled me in at first. And you will see that BTS is different from most kpop, sort of like how MJ was different from most American pop. Please check out the Who is BTS by Suga and Spice, we LOVE to see you get to know them. Aaaand you will probably be flooded with suggestions, but we can't help ourselves. Here is my favorite list: Mic Drop, Not Today, Singularity, Daechwita, Ddaeng, Ugh, Do You, Blue and Grey, Chicken Noodle Soup, Idol, Magic Shop, Mikrokosmos, Love Yourself, Fix You. You will need english subtitles, it takes getting used to, but we never mind if you pause, read, and rewind, just so you don't miss anything. We don't mind long reactions, if they are like yours!
