When I went to training to become an officer they had us attend a class on how to be racist and how to be more aggressive against more black and brown individuals, and to give white people a free pass for most offenses.

The police need more training like at least two years before being allowed to run around with a badge and a gun they also need regular psychological evaluations and the protection they receive needs to be flexible enough to be able to discipline/prosecute officers that kill, injure or do anything that is racist or discriminatory in anyway. They need protect and serve the people that is their job anything else is unacceptable.

@BannedUser could just spend a little less on tanks and other extreme tools that aren't really necessary, then the training would save millions in payments for police misconduct as more training eqauls less misconduct and less wasted time for the whole justice department all round so I'd say start there really. Plus on the whole once you do this and treat everyone the same in the eyes of the law it definitely improves public opinion of the the police and justice system. But the main part for the trust is not hiding and protecting their "bad apples" all the time as this only incur's a negative result everytime as we've witnessed time and time again one bad apple can ruin a lot more

They already have that. It takes Six years of police academy to become a full police officer, and are held accountable by the courts for abuse of power through bodycams. As for the phyk evals those get based off opinions of the psychiatrist cause emotions are not an exact science
