Outstanding Michael. The video is amazing. What I noticed about the fish missing the bait was is maybe the size was just a little to big. Sizing down might help with better hookups. I have said this many times but I can not say it enough....your country is absolutely breath taking. Very beautiful and very serine. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks a lot, Alex. Yes you are right, minor adjustments can produce more secure hook ups. Downscaling can be the trick. This particular video is actually captured in Sweden, but most of our videos are made in my homeland Denmark. Sweden is kind of a second home to us though, since we travel north each summer. Thanks again my friend. Stay safe. Cheers, Michael :0)

Yeah, not only reduce the size, but also use a smaller weight head, so that it doesn't sink as fast. Depending on the depth, a small bobber might keep the jig more stationary. Enjoyed your video, thank you for sharing it!!!

Thanks for your feedback, Stephen. Yeah underwater footage can be an eye opening experience. Those little ticks in the line, are potentially fish that just grabbed... and let go. Cheers, Michael :0)

Ha ha, I was into watching those "reaction" music videos a year or so ago. They're very entertaining, but this "fish" reaction to a lure video is informative and a wake up call. You guys found the perch "honey hole" on that river, with a nice brown to boot! Any Grayling in that river? That shoreline is just like the one on the lake I fish here in the US. There's even a drop off to a deep hole like where you fished. That rod Ulla had at 2:06 looked like a Shakespeare Ugly Stik, was it? I've caught decades worth of fish on my old Stik. Thanks buddies, take care.
@MichaelJensensAngling3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Joe. Yeah that reaction gimmick thing, popped into my head, after watching a couple of those music reaction videos :0) Yup, we shure found the honey hole on that river, so it was a great opportunity to get some underwater footage - and catch a lot of fish. Very few grayling in this particular river, but a tributary that joins a few miles downstream has fabulous grayling fishing. So they are in the area. Yes, it's a Ugly Stick. You can see that exact rod getting a serious workout in the scene with Ulla's winter pike in the previous video (a teaser for an upcomming film). She caught a lot of fish on that cheap little rod over the years, as well. There might be more fancy rods with a bit more finesse out there, but you won't find a stronger rod for your money anywhere :0) Take care buddy. Cheers, Michael :0)

Hey Mike, nice underwater vid really shows that marabou doing its thing. I remember watching this tie from you last year and didn't put any together, but I am today! I'm doing a couple on 1/16 oz as well. Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback, buddy. Glad I turned you on to this little lure. I tie this in several sizes, and the the smaller sizes are killer for trout. Tight lines, Michael :0)

Interesting to watch Michael, Thanks for posting! The fish were hitting but not eating the jig. Wonder why. Seen bass do the same thing just messing with the lure/jig/fly. On the flip-side, get it right (size, profile, action etc) and there's a 100% commitment - no fooling around, they swim up and eat it!
@MichaelJensensAngling3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Hank. You are right. Sometimes just minor adjustments on the lure or a change in the current, light or other factors can be a game changer. It can be a factor as well, that this river was stuffed with small baitfish, so the predators weren't as eager than they would be in waters were food is scarce. Cheers, Michael :0)

Michael it appears to me from many experiences, videos that in this video,they kept hitting it and letting go. I am going to make some jigs with trebles , Maribou , bend hooks out and sharpen them even more . Grab and caught can't let go and a speed somewhere between the fast in your video and slow. Enough speed to get attention and erratic but some momentary pauses to give 'em time to target the lure, but not to touch bottom and snag , If that makes sense, I hope. Hope all is well in Denmark

Some days fish just play hard to get, Timothy. Those are the days where we have to experiment and work a bit harder. Your ideas sound great. Cheers, Michael :0)
