This is on another level, I absolutely love your paintings and because of you I have given this art ago after decades of wanting to try some sort of painting art, and watching your tutorials has given me the kick up the pants I needed to give it a go and I'm happy to say I have done about 12 paintings since late Dec 22, and most of them have turned out not too bad. So thanks again for the tutorials and sharing your knowledge.

@@johnshepherd6925, it's an awesome form of art, Im loving it at the moment. I'm no Picasso but I'm normally reasonably happy with the end result. It's definitely helpful having tutorials you can follow. Anyway good luck with ya painting man.

Watching Jon's videos and brilliantly executed tutorials are the reason I took up spray painting a few months ago. Jon, your tutorials and watching you work has served to continuously improve my own spray painting hobby skills. I really enjoy spray painting and the creativity it brings out in me. The great thing about it...there are no rules or limits to art and it took me a lifetime to realise that. Just a note though...and it's a personal choice. I've been very reluctant to use plastic bags. I've substituted plastic bags for space scenes in favour of baking sheet wax paper and found it does the same job...I just use less paint or I give the effect a longer drying time. Jon mate, seriously...you're a brilliant artist and teacher. Your efforts inspire me and because of you...I just can't stop painting! Cheers mate.

Hi Joseph, WOW! Thank you so much for watching and for taking the time to leave these kind words, the awesome comment, and the great feedback, I really appreciate it :) :) It's also nice to hear that my videos and tutorials have helped you continuously improve on your own painting and that they helped you start this hobby :) It's means a lot to hear that :) Yes there's no limits in art just paint what you want to paint and what makes you happy :) I've not tried using baking paper to make texture with but it sounds like it works tho, The stuff i use for texture is stuff that is going to be throw away like the canvas packaging, the blue plastic i use are bags that i cut up, they were going in a skip so i took them, unwanted magazines works well too :) To be honest anything you can crease up could/can work for making texture :)

Wow! Beatuful. Do you have video, how to fix mistakes? :)
@JonBarberArt2 жыл бұрын
Hi Woodrocks, Thank you so much for watching and for taking the time to leave this comment, the feedback, and the question, I really appreciate it :) No i don't sorry, there's not really mistakes in art, it maybe a mistake to you and you don't like it but someone may love it, (There's been painting where i have done something i don't like and thought it's a mistake but other's loved it) but if you have made a mistake and don't like what you have done you can always cover the mistake up and start again, that's the good thing with spray paint art, it all depends on what you want to cover up, you may find it easier to finish the painting off, and then paint it again on something else this way you have had like a practice run first and the next one will be better :) hope this helps :) In this painting here, near the start i painted the white lines in and rubbed them with my fingers to make a water effect it didn't work as i wanted to so i just sprayed it black again and started the water again :)

from someone who still has lots to learn. when you first started the waterfall. Why did you streak the white paint instead of just streaking the black to show the white card?
@JonBarberArt2 жыл бұрын
Hi Jack, Thank you so much for watching and for taking the time to leave this comment, and the question, I really appreciate it :) I streaked the white paint over the black because it works better then doing the black over the white, with the black going down first and still slightly wet it mixes with white just a bit so it gives some slightly different shades of white, instead of a bright white if you do it the other way round, hope this helps :)
