Thank you for taking the time to share your data!....Twist rates...., barrel material,.... barrel lining,......rifling process cut, buttoned, broached rifling,..rifling type, conventional, 5R, 3R, all can factor in for precision and observed FPS.

Best route is a 20 inch barrel to get the most out 77 grain round. Expect an MOA wind constant of about 10 at 600 yards. From my match conditioned AR that I use in Service Rifle Competition 77 grain FGMM delivers .5 MOA at 100 yards from bench with 4.5 power optic. BTW, Mk262 delivers results on par to FGMM and as an SDM Instructor I have seen Soldiers shoot MOA from rack grade M4’s to 600 meters with ACOG.

Oh nice bro u teach at arkansas or are you a unit level instructor? I loved being an sdm (wish I got a chance to play with the H&k they use now) currently I am a sniper section leader. And yeah, I know good groups are absolutely achievable with less magnification and all that jaz but at some point it becomes an exercise of how well you can see your poa and reticle relationship at the time of shot. I do love me some mk262 but when I was shooting sniper, dm, prs, outlaw long range with my 5.56 I was running my 75g hornady handloads. (Higher bc and more velocity)

@@haysc494 I have assisted the USAMU deliver SDM, TTT, and SAFS at Ft Bragg, Ft Campbell, Ft Jackson, Ft Benning, and Camp Perry as a CMP contingent of US Distinguished Riflemen and American High Power Riflemen invited by USAMU to assist as force multiplier. In other words I was/am a blue polo shirt guy, usually directed by two members of USAMU Service Rifle Section. I have never shot 77’s at 1000 yards. Mostly they’re shot in 300 yard rapid fire stage. At 600 and 1000 yards I shoot an 80 grain Berger over a heavy loading of RE-15 that holds an MOA wind constant of about 10 at 1000 yards. So far my scores with it at 1000 are at 94% with a handful of X’s, shooting irons. At any rate, at 300 yards the 77 grain round for me is usually good for 99% scores if I get the wind right, again with irons, which I’d rather use than optic because I have yet to find a reticle concept that gets me an exacting recognition for where the rifle is pointed quickly enough for good scores in the rapid fire strings. Seems I have developed a better sight picture memory from irons, strange but true.

Barrel length doesn’t equal accuracy that’s boomer logic that’s been debunked and velo isn’t as necessary with expanding bullets that’s why you don’t hunt with fmj it’s a shitty projectile that’s not as accurate as a match grade otm or tipped bullet

The 18" is a BA spr barrel. Whatever processes they do I am unaware of. I have had very good luck with my ss barrels though. All my comp.rifles have ss.barrels.

@@haysc494they do chrome moly. ss should give a hair more velocity plus my aem5 should help. i get hole through hole accuracy with swiss p 69gr so fingers crossed this stuff is good for the price
