In the UK monetary rewards and settlements when there is litigation against the police are usually not much, which is ridiculous. Same thing here in Canada where I’m from, I filed a human rights complaint against one of the police forces here after being routinely stopped and racially profiled in 2012. I won the human rights decision in 2015 and was rewarded a measly $10,000 which I did not get until 8 years later because the police and their lawyers kept appealing. Altogether they fought me from 2012 to 2023 which is 11 years in total and they finally paid me the $10,000 with $1,000 interest which is nothing, it makes me sick.
