I love the gaiomon double combo with using ex4 just to get rid of a big boss or it trashes the top security if nothing is deleted and then end of turn when you have bt9 gaiomon de digivolve and blitz and reboot and trash if you have metal x under him to trash on unsuspend phase feels so nasty like that’s 4 checks of oh so goodness

The last store event I attended I took Gallantmon and the "deck wizard" guy ran a BWG deck and I'm normally the stores really good BWG player. He ran over me especially with that Promo BWG, just Digi-Burst materials and kept swinging. Kinda tempted to give it a try myself.

Yeah the promo BWG seems really strong right now in this format since not a ton of important tamers that need to be deleted.

Fellow BWGX Black Base player here. I definitely agree with you that the Metalgreymon X from BT11 is underrated. People who run red base don't run it often because they want more aggression and cheaper digivolve cost of the BT9 MGX, but trashing security, extra protections, and a medium-small body removal all in one package is just insane value. I also like that you can sort of forego having Cool Boy if you use the black Agumon X's search since it can grab the X Antibody option. I want to try out a build that uses the ST15 option card to de-digivolve and force opponents to attack at the start of their main phase. You talked about Hades Force being a dead card if you are behind. I feel like Trident Arm(I think that's the name) is the solution to that problem. In some cases you'd only need a level 4 on board to be able to block and delete their digimon when they make the forced swing, plus if you had the right stack you could gain the extra memory from inheritables and either prevent them making a comeback or steal the turn entirely depending on how much memory you had on your turn before that. But this all theory. I haven't tried it out yet.

Supreme connection is also a really good card for this deck but you would have to probably run black mem boost over training.

28:50, the raid with metalgreymon to unsuspend doesn't work because the raid happens after the when attacking window

Black Base Greymon is one of my favorite decks to run, my first deck ever (started with the starter deck) and progressed to it's current form. Despite that, I'm not a fan of BWG right now, I find the tamer hate isn't as necessary this format, but maybe I'm wrong. I prefer Wargreymon BT12 currently, but I do run Gaio and BWG x same number you do. I also run 1 Agumon EX4, the inherit comes up a bit but usually having another searcher really helps especially cause I run Omnimon Blitz and Omnimon X antibody. I'm currently running 1 Greymon BT2 for jamming because all my level 6 have reboot and black base greymon doesn't always have the highest DP compared to red greymon. It's testing ok, not sure yet. I worry Zubamon might be a bad choice for this build because only your x antibody greymons can digivolve over a red rookie that's not agumon. Can't wait to see what you come up with next!

Next week I'll do my red base BWG. It's like the aggressive base of Red Wargreymon but top end switches to defense. I've had some fantastic luck with it in the past. Agreed about the tamer hate not being overly needed currently. Maybe if Gallantmon starts picking up it will be? Clearing their Takato that gives blitz is pretty important.

Since you need to instances of protections for leviamon. Would the agu x and greymon x bt9 be able to be used since they are separate effects?

Not really. Since there are several other cards that can be played in that situation as well as mulligans. It's been fine so far. I was a little worried at first.

⁠The thought of dropping agux for 4 is just ouch plus being super discouraged from hard playing your best searcher agu because it's one of two options you can raise. Also the bt9 greyx isn't a once per turn per card text so you can keep dropping off doubles as long as it's the last one to leave.
