Good video Denny. I remember surveying in Black Bush Polder years ago back in the early 70's. You really have genuine friends ... which reminds me that nowhere in the world can you find hospitable people like Guyanese. I still have the same quality over here .... but it's a shame that other guyanese over here has lost that ability.... it's like it was replaced by a "Crabdog" mentality. They try to pull you down if they work the same place, don't entertain friends when they meet up, never maintain old friendships at all etc and their children born over here or grow up here are not taught the old ways and traditions. Children are worst. Nuff said. Keep up the good work Denny .... the market has an abundance of fresh food and helpful vendors. Maintain your friends throughout life ... including the Singhs and Shart Mahn (Short man) .. 😁 I like seeing them in your videos. Cheers.

No buddy, I have not lost that ability. The thing is, I have no fruit, vegetable, or duck to give.

Thanks for the video. Enjoyed the trip, as if I was also with you. It's nice to pass on the family history and values to the next generation. I am quite jealous of the backyard of your friend Mr Boodram. It has everything what a family will be in need. Read alot regarding country side of Guyana, but chanced to have a glimpse of it through this video. Waiting for lots more from you.

I enjoyed the video. My mom is from les beholden. The roads are very good compare to the 80’s/90’. Have to take your pants off and put your suite case on your head to get into the dam. But it was fun days. Loved the adventure. Very nice and hospitable people in those areas. Great video Denny.

Not everybody can live in the city. Who would do your farming for your food. When the oil fields and refineries open up, they will not be in Georgetown and the country areas will surely become more like cities. Just wait for the oil industry to boom..

Thank you for taking us along on another nice trip. There is something special about living in the country and enjoy all it has to offer. Left Guyana 39 years ago as a child but still remember how special it was to grow up on the east cost. Have few family members left there and hope to see you run I to them one day in your trip around Guyana. My god parents (Edmonds family) also still have a farm there.

You started an argument here with me and my hubby. Lol! We had to call three people to verify that I was wrong. I only knew about purple stirapple. Never knew there was a green one. My experience tells me you had to wait till it turned purple to eat. Called my mom she said yup they're right. There's a green one and a purple one and you can eat both. Oh well you learn something new everyday. :)
@ITSOURLIFEARD4 жыл бұрын
There are green ones that you can eat and some that has to get purple before you can eat them. I know of two species green and purple

Love and miss all the yummy fruits Guyana have to offer. Starapple is one of my favorite, found it on Liberty Ave earlier this year for $15.00 per pound.

These videos are going to be a time capsule for your kids. I really like the fact that you and Miss Lynch take your kids everywhere with you. My dad used to do this with us when we were kids. Now we're all grown and we just got caught in that work-home routine we don't do it anymore. Make sure your kids take lots of pictures and have the best experience ever.
@ITSOURLIFEARD4 жыл бұрын
orchidRiTa18 my late father used to take me to our farm lands , to catch fish , to visit relatives and take us to the Seawall and these are the things I remember him for. So I am taking my children along with me so when we are gone they can remember us this way and even have something to pass down to their children. And I wish more fathers can take their children along with them on trips or other activities.

Rich countries' mentality is to work hard for fancy material things while sacrificing personal development, health, family, etc. and we're never home to enjoy all the things we are constantly working for. It seems counter-intuitive but the economies of these countries and 2/3 of their GDPs function on consumerism and buying things. Generation Z which is the youngest generation has made some strides in life experiences over product consumerism but we'll see. The richest experiences in life are virtually free courtesy of nature, not a contrived exotic made-made product.

Thanks for the video. I long to go to a market in the Caribbean when many fruits are in season. That will make my trip great to have fresh local meals prepared locally. I am impressed with the big homes in your videos. After all, this is where people refer to as country. I remember the old time homes when I went there. If only the infrastructure could be fixed, but I guess the villagers will have to approach the government re this. I remember how many times the water and lights were off. These types of videos should encourage people to do tours so the world could enjoy this part of Guyana. You are promoting your country with these types of videos. All Guyana needs is the oil money to start coming in and there will be a lot of people immigrating to the country.
