I don't know why I'm watching a review of this - Kuroshitsuji is one of my favourite series. You're right about the dubbed version - I watched it first and it makes the whole thing seem more like a comedy. I'm currently watching the sub, and it's much better (Jun Fukuyuma is the best Grell!) Great review btw!

dubbed version is awesome, the setting is victorian england, therefore it makes sence to watch it in english dub. also they speak in brittish accents xD

I REALLY loved this one! Ciel was my favorite. The reason I watched it because I'm a fan of darker elements and it seemed so. I will never regret my decision to watch it.

I hate to be THAT girl but seriously, the manga is soo much better!. If you are going to watch the anime you need to watch the first season until the "curry arc" has finished and then watch book of circus and then book of murder. I watched the other episodes which was still good but no where near as good as reading it 0 and i'm not a huge manga reader!

Wow, I personally really liked the dubbed version... I thought it was cool how each character's accent corresponded with their respective country. Well, regardless, Black Butler remains my favorite anime up-to-date for some odd reason (and I've seen many different high-quality series) and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys dark, historical and/or supernatural anime and doesn't mind a bit of shounen-ai subcontext (hehehe... Sebaciel)

In the second episode it goes into detail about how he had to take ciels soul and if you pay attention to the theme song graphics it kinda shows it there. Not really.

He didnt become a demon! Why do people think that. The deal was: When Ciel exacts revenge on everyone that helped/did murder his parents, and kill them, Sebastians position as butler is over, and he is allowed to devour Ciels soul, killing him. Ay ay ay...

That anime is basecly " I saw 2 xhapters of the manga and decided to create a fairytale" It's still my favorite through. The thing I like about the anime ia how it explores the word of supernatural much more then the manga. In the anime there's angles, demons, Grim Reapers and Bloodhounds, while in the manga Sebastian is the only demon we know and Yana Toboso just seems to add more Grim Reapers to the story. Anime also seems to give us cooler content such as the church ark, as unlogical as it was how the heck did Yana create a Titanic arc, something like Hogwards and etc but didn't make a chucch arc yet. IT'S ABOUT DEMONS FOR GOD'S SIKE

Telling people that they can catch up on the story line by reading the manga....not so much. Instead of filling it with filler, shortly into the anime it takes a different path from the manga and becomes it's own series. A number of characters don't even carry over from print to anime, not to mention plot line. I am really hoping this will lead them to making a new Black Butler, sort of how they did with FMA and FMA Brotherhood. Grell was my favorite character of the bunch.

Considering I watched the subbed first I thought the dubbed was a little weird at first. Sebastian and Grell's voice was much deeper and Ceil's was higher. It was really cool how they're accents fit their country though.

The dub was good, just different. In the subs the voices tended to be overly similar, though Elizabeth was notably less annoying in Japanese. But I'm a sub elitist, and this dub was definitely worth watching.

I personally loved the dub, from neither anime dubbed or subbed I felt no "creepy" vibes, it was more of a depressing sad vibe, that will be sure to make you cry ;3 I mean I must admit, it is a little creepy, but I feel as though you should of highlighted more on the sad part (no hate) Anyway back to the dub, I feel as though the character voices matched perfectly with each character and the sub was too confusing.. It didn't make as much sense and the jokes that they scattered around weren't as funny as in the dub. (No hate though) I personally love your channel and you seem so nice and pretty :3

Black Butler is probably my favorite anime besides Soul Eater. I, personally, loved the dubbed more so then the subbed. Not because of the voices per say, (even though I do love the dubbed voice actors and such), but because I hate reading subtitles. I find it to be a hassle to have to read them and miss the actual animation going on. I can watch subbed, (for ex. Blue Exorcist because I can't find a dubbed version of it on Netflix), but I personally just prefer dubbed. Great review btw! ^_^

Just finished watching Full Metal Alchemist and was debating whether or not to watch something in between watching the Brotherhood version. I tried Cowboy Bebop on recommendation, but couldn't get on with it. Have seen and loved Inuyasha, Bleach, and the various incarnations of DB(z). I tend to like, albeit unpopularly, dubbed versions although I also like subs!

The only english dub, I prefer is Hellsing. I couldn't stand the way some words were pronounced in this, plus we don't say candy over here (or bangs, its fringe - manga only). I'm just glad Pandora Hearts wasn't dubbed too.

English and Japanese are both not my native tongue , yet I made the effort to watch it in Japanese with English substitutes since the English voice actors failed to capture the characters's true nature in my opinion !

*overall thoughts* ok i stopped on season 2 episode 3 and this show is pretty boring...there is no reason to continue watching this and it feels like a faster paced version of conan in the way that it ignores the main plot to focus on other things. i didn't mind the side characters back stories...but all the missions from the queen his childish reasons for obeying her. really all the people that talk about this series say its so good but...i don't see what so amazing...i mean its not boring exactly but its not usually interesting either. the comedy is hit and miss and the action sucks...its usually suggestive and off screen :/ not gonna waste more time on this would rather rewatch something i have seen already! a really meh show *what i disliked about this show* S1 Ciel's other servants are all completely useless...and i even mean on a normal level...a middle schooler can cook w/o burning food >.> sebastion stopped ciel from slapping elizabeth when she deserved it...then instead ciel has a dance with her wtf... they also think sebastion is human after seeing beyond super human feats...how stupid can they be... finny had enough power as a normal human to plow thru fully grown trees??? and a stone wall >.>? why is sebastion perfect and knowledgeable in like....everything??? he is a freaking demon need limits :/ a demon killing a angel? is that a joke? and to think god would not get involved in any of this...pretty ridiculous S2 ...what am i supposed to think here? a sick twisted little bitch of a kid who has a devil to protect him who causes people to suffer for no reason and cries over nothing...this is painful as hell to watch... it should of been obvious before but at this point im really not getting ciels character...he cares about things as meaningless as public relations.. and his "family" name yet...he is supposed to not have a future in fact he should be dead now >.>
