Great episode. Covey/Coventina/Eleanor/Elly has A lot layers. Now Benny was just doing a bit much. To feel misunderstood is one thing but not see or speak to your family for 8 years! Byron's girlfriend seems to be older than him and she got on my nerves for not knowing time and place.

The reason u probably don’t like the daughter Benny might be the same reason I don’t 😂 . Even though she is an older adult, however she comes off as a Gen Z’er. Always complaining, never taking accountability for her faults in life. Blaming others for her failures. Like when she switched up on the girlfriend after dinner, and placed the blame on her.

I am so glad you're reviewing this show. It's very well done and intriguing. Every time I think I've got a handle on the mystery they come up with something else. As a first generation Jamerican, I can relate to being the hope and the dream of Bob Marley, the indigenous ancestors and Shabba Ranks. Bennie should be sympathetic but she is giving when Denise Huxtable got annoying. Like girl you can't run off to Africa then show up with a husband and a baby and get in YOUR feelings. I'm Gen Z (I saw a comment mentioning that) and I studied law and my mom grinded for me so did my community, I thought B, didn't have good awareness since her family did seem like they would ride or die for her if she just followed through. Her finding herself arc though I think was to relate to people who may have had things handed to them more so, also how she expected that white guy to look out for her, no one could have seen him being abusive but I think her dad and mom and brother sheltered her A LOT.

I liked the show as a Barbadian I actually still recognised some of the Caribbean culture although it was 1. Set in the past and 2. It was a different island, Jamaica. I also actually related to their parents as they grinded to get to where they were and the daughter B, would have gotten on my nerves too
