I do legit miss the Pre-Flashpoint history of Black Canary. IMO her being the daughter of a previous superhero and taking up that hero's namesake was super classy.

D.C. Stranded It looks alike Fletcher wanted do a retcon, but it seems like something made him not explore to it at the limit. So far nobody didnt touch in that idea.

To be fair, that didnt last either and retcon to there was a woman named Dinah Drake who was the 1st Black Canary and then her daughter Dinah Laurel Lance became the second Black Canary because her mother was too old for fight crime.

One thing I never got about the Canary Cry....how is it possible for her to hurt the ears of the bad guys and not good guys and civilians? I mean it's sound....it's not like light, which you can focus into a laser beam. Whoever you blast the sound at is going to get damaged, but so will everyone else who's not wearing ear protection, which most civilians and heroes aren't.

Normally she only does it around the arrow family, league, and birds of prey. They all have earpieces and I just headcanon that they drown out the sounds

@@kylerohan3841 That might be possible, but the drawback would be that everyone on your team would basically be fighting deaf. That's not really practical, taking away one of your valuable senses. Without her cry, all she has is martial arts kicks and punches making her Black Widow for DC. She needs it to stay alive in a big fight, and can't always depend on civilians not being around to being exposed to her cry. It would be weird for villains like Lex Luther and others not to get earpieces of their own to block out the cry as well.

I’m glad I stopped following DC before the NU52, because what they did to Canary was horrible. Thankfully, I have the post Crisis DC as my version, with her as a founding member to remember as “real”.
