The change needed in our black community starts with music and entertainment. Everything bad with our culture comes from music entertainment. We also need to control the social narratives of our community. As a people we let other groups describe who we are to the world 🌎. Unfortunately, the low hanging fruit in our communities are the epitome of these prejudice stereotypes and tropes. Our people are plagued by generational debauchery, trauma, and toxic mindsets.
@anonnnymousthegreat3 күн бұрын
What needs to happen is to stop supporting those like megan, glo and anyone like them both maIe and femaIe “artists”. Because they are being controlled by handlers that want to push out anything and everything to destroy the bIack community and keep us at the bottom. We need to start supporting independent bIack artists that are not signed to these evil record labels. The more we gravitate towards independent artists, the more the shift in our community will be seen. Mainstream is a wide road that is easy to take. We need to be taking the narrow road.

People got so used to dysfunction they don't know how to appreciate and operate in normality.

She pushed a negative image of BW in the early 2000s then got with this wht man and did a complete 180 which is fine but she never gave the blk male equivalent to that wm a chance which would’ve been helpful in shifting the culture . Nothing wrong that she changed her life that’s great but she was very much a part of the problem she did her damage and when it didn’t serve her anymore she left that damage … typical

She deserves it. She told black girls to date drug dealers while choosing another path for herself. She's the problem.

Y’all may disagree, but I think one of the biggest issues is most of ya’ll consider y’all selves brothers and sisters. Y’all don’t know each other and you’re not connected through your skin color. We’re all individuals and my commituh is 99% white, safe and free of degeneracy. Go where you’re first safe then appreciated and celebrated.

I agree 100%. They may be talking as far as having similar interests though. It’s like myself and the people I served with in the military. A select few, but they’ll always be my brothers and sisters even though we’re not related biologically. We did go through a lot together which is how we now have a bond as if we’re brothers/sisters, etc.

@@Mr.3600TXYes, I love that! However, that’s different from “brotha and sistah” because we’re all black. I will NEVER call a random bdub sistah ever! It’s weird. Just like you, the men and women I consider brothers and sisters have earned it. They’re white as snow btw lol!

@@Mr.3600TX I agree with that sort of brother and sister relationship. However, not the just because we look alike kind. It’s weird. I’m glad you have them though, that’s true friendship.

All of black culture isn't trash. It provides many great things. But promoting gun violence, oversexualization and thinking its "respect" going to jail is definitely not something that should be promoted to the youth. There needs to be more truth tellers like you men. Im not black. Im speaking as an outsider. I love my black brothers and sisters and want y'all to thrive!

He has points that many conservative African Americans share. Representation of black culture is missing a visible, morally grounded presence. I think the morally sound parts of us have remained hidden due to hurts over Black Wall Street, etc.

My grandfather was founder of GD and other grandfather a pimp that partied with Hugh Hefner.... They told me to be different. Now I am Aerospace Engineer and it was honestly mainly girls saying/asking why you want to be WHITE so bad or how can I bring you around my family talking WHITE. We have a serious problem in our community confusing living Right with White. A lot of guys in that same hood were supportive, but there's this disconnect where they feel can't hang with you same still or even they tell you not be apart of the community as it will only bring you down. Anyone doing well or healthy we really push away for some reason and I personally feel we'll get better with more channels/messages like these

@alvinrichmond3053 күн бұрын
He makes alot of valid points, I haven't watched BET in more than a decade so I agree there. Where we disagree is our definition of black culture. His definition is the capitalistically fed definition. Black culture is overcoming and surviving every obstacle thrown and influencing the world while doing it. What I don't like is members of our community talking down on others in our community while ignoring the system that helped drive members of our community where they are. As black people we are all victims of the same system, is just that some of us have been able to navigate it better than others. That doesn't make you better, what that means is that you have an obligation to help others escape being capitalized and marginalized if you actually care.
@rachele95662 күн бұрын
Your point is understood. However, the problem is many black folks get defensive or let good advice/help go in one ear and out the other. How many times do we have to say stop doing drugs, stop having babies out of wedlock, stop the crime/gang life, get an education on and on, stop the horrible rap lyrics, etc. Yet, we continue to blame our outcome on being victims or the "system".
