I bought one for my sunroom and it has worked great. I use the dehumidify mode to cool the room most the time because I'm in the humid south. The sunroom has sliding glass doors only so I bought a kit on Amazon to vent it out the slider. I did have a smaller portable air conditioner bought at Walmart, whose brand name I don't remember. It worked well for the small room it was in, but this Black & Decker model is a lot nicer. It seems to be better quality, heavier, sturdier. I do with the unit wasn't so loud. It is pretty quiet for what it is but I work from the sunroom and I cherish quiet time. It is an air conditioner so it will always have to make noise.

I just got the 8000 bu one. its cold but I wish the vents pointed forward and not up.. the one that has vents that point forward are the higher BTU units just fyi.. NOw I have to return this and get the bigger one so I can have the front facing vents.. why would they point up!!

Since heat rises it cools the room more efficiently by pushing the cold air up is my guess.

Have you had " trouble" with the vents not closing after it shut down?
@t3truedesigns6 ай бұрын
@@lukegodbout9117 mine never did that. vents move by hand not by motor..

I love how no one covers getting the hose on the machine. 😅

It's super easy to attach. There are little tabs and slots the tabs go in. You press the hose on and turn so the tabs move aside from the slots so it won't pop off. Very simple.

have had mine for almost 3 yrs and is now collecting water:/ I've tried emptying both valves and still hear the water trickling noise, any suggestions?

Mine is doing the same thing!! I'm trying to figure out how to drain it or find other solutions!
@tacallybruns10396 ай бұрын
@@vlb.strategies we have figured out with ours that the condensation line is either broken or clogged:/ we have to unscrew the drain cap on the back (the higher one not the lowest one) and tip it over for a few minutes on it's back outside to drain it. We have to drain it once a day or every other day so it still works but we have to unhook and hook it up constantly to avoid the leaking/pooling

Mine is brand new and doing the same thing. I have to use a catch pan and empty it every 6 hours

Mine made it through 1.5 summers before it started pulling this crap too. Thought about connecting a hose, and putting it the unit in a larger Tupperware to collect the overflow

@@tacallybruns1039 that's exactly what I was thinking of doing with mine! I'm going to give it a try! Do you have yours running constantly? I only really need to use mine for a few hours at most during the day so I'm hoping maybe I won't have to empty it daily 🤞🏼🤞🏼
