Kyrandis, do you still love BDO? I mean, after you've gotten end game gear, a huge amount of sustainable money, and no real reason to level up further, what becomes of BDO to you? combat? I ask this because I don't want to get bored of this game (although its inevitable) but with the gear and leveling "softcap", I feel there's nothing left for you.

Because you're thinking of this MMO as a traditional one, if ALL you do is grind and level up you'll burn yourself out. Its a sandbox mmorpg with the largest non instance world ever made so I mean if you can't find stuff to entertain yourself on Black Desert you're probably either are easily frustrated or have a lack of imagination. Kyrandis is in probably the top 5% of players and most people watching this video will never get there.. So putting yourself in his shoes is a really bad way to think

I see you've failed to comprehend my question. I don't think of BDO as a traditional one, because I've only played 2 MMO's in life, and they are both what you consider 'non-traditional MMO's'. Guild Wars 2, and Black Desert Online. If anything, BDO is more of a 'traditional' MMO as it includes the many, many traditional features that are very grindy, and RNG based. Listen, in the game, there really is a limit to where certain aspects are just no longer FUN or REWARDING. Gear is already capped, and if it were to expand beyond, the chance of getting them are astronomically small. While technically there isn't a limit to the world of BDO, there's a limit to mob level and player concentration, as not everyone will be able to achieve the recommended level for certain areas. Also, on your 'lack of imagination' argument, that's just a sad players way of saying: "There's nothing interesting anymore in the game, time to imagine things being more interesting than what they already are." and that's a point that many players have actually reached in some games, they have to imagine their fun. You don't understand. What I'm trying to ask, is that after reaching a point in the game like Kyrandis, how does he keep the game fun for him? It's not a statement, i'm not putting myself in someones shoes, it's simply a question on ethical motivation within the game. Please read and interpret perspectives before replying.

Yea I still like BDO, I don't think I've gotten end game gear though I'm close. I still have a reason to bring my tamer to 60, 61 and 62, especially with this class though that's more of a marathon than a sprint and something I'd casually chase. Running another class is also nice change of pattern, RBF is a nice daily chaos rumble I can just hop into with where I'm at. There's still many things left for me to do, getting to higher trading levels to see product numbers because i like seeing different methods of silver generation, upcoming new regions of kamasylvia is enticing, figuring out ways to tackle Hystria more appropriately, havne't killed a sea monster yet, working on raising my guild over time to get a guildhouse for a boat building and then go on a fleet sail to take out the monsters with likeminded players and friends i've made. One thing I haven't really done much of is horse training and taming which I know is long and full of afk nights of running but I'm sure I have a theory in head to make it go a lot faster utilizing elixirs while running trade somewhere. There's still plenty to do and raising CP even further, and fully decorating my house with furniture items and creating more housing points and cannonballs for war, helping out bigger guilds take territory, maybe get in on some of that high-end drama for a bit and then just revert back to chillin. I know my guild isnt' like top 10 or first page etc and we don't really full hardcore it's like a casual mix with hardcore in it so the dynamic in my own guild is greatly conflicting but held together which I find to be a neat challenge I have to take on.

How do you avoid burnout from the repetitive aspects tho? I mean, I got my Energy to 328 and CP to 290, but by the time my first character hit 58 I was bored out of my skull. I feel there is no "real" endgame in the sense that everything is flexible and player-dependent. There is no raid, hardmode, ultimate conquest of any kind. Grinding doesn't bother me so long as I get consistent returns on my effort. When the exp and price lines curved upwards in that exponential fashion it just felt like hitting a brick wall where the time invested was no longer worth the net gain. I still play, but mostly passively fishing to get relics so I can repair my boss gear for TRI attempts, slowly spinning that hamster wheel on that sorry excuse for an upgrade system. I've nothing against an elemtn of chance, but when you hinge main progression on luck more than effort or skill, I tend to get edgy. Pisses me off to no end seeing people go TET in 1 go 2 times in a row while I fall back to DUO / PRI 7 times on one piece of gear =/ RNG is fine and all, but I guess the overuse of it kinda ruins it for me. And while yes, failstacks do sort of ensure no real value is lost, it does so by locking your available resources in until you get to a point where it's worth blowing them on something. This can stall you for weeks depending on your luck and playtime.

i've bombed TET about 11 times(soon to be 6 more else the game gives me a TET) and I don't have any. I think its more or less I've played with much harsher conditions in previous MMOs that I don't feel any of this burnout players experience in general. Like yea RNG sucks I got some friends who got Nouver boxes back to back or two Dandelion boxes back to back meanwhile I can't even find 3 auras off the wench for the past week after 9+ kills with 200+AP and full ACC stack and 5 luck. It's just ridiculous at some point. Most people on average get a TET boss by about 5-8 attempts at 50+ stack starting. Me nope. On top of that within this video and other videos(I duel g.members for the sake of learning, we go out sailing, we war, we chill, we lifeskill, we internally compete etc., we go hunting, bosses etc.) it should depict how much of a variety I switch very often so I don't end up repeating tasks over and over in the same fashion hence why I do all forms of lifeskill and barely ever grind and not "just gear chasing". No hardmode? I don't see anyone else soloing Hystria apart from myself or someone way above 500GS or 240AP(which I don't have), albeit not efficiently but I can at least take on 6-8 mobs simultaneously lol. Everyone is either at pirates or sausans and then complain about no challenge or anything when they don't go at it and just say its too hard because they can't facetank the mobs or 1shot them. Very confused. I've seen level 58s with 170AP go at Hystria and operate their dodge and cc's properly to kill them, they're item chasing obviously not EXP grinding. I'd much prefer freedom of do whatever I want rather than run a dungeon/instance 90000x for a 0.0001% class specific drop/upgrade material. That's what I've moved away from MMO formula. That's worse than grinding 100k mobs with random player interruption; is repeating a pattern static dungeon with a boss mechanic that doesn't evolve beyond its implementation or is just amplified in stat numbers and then get outdated in relevancy due to content tiered updates. At least BDO with every expansion thus far my char hasn't needed to re-gear once.

Kyrandis , I see what you mean, but I meant more in the sense that I'd prefer if accomplishing a task ( e.g. kill 100k mobs) actually gave me a predictable outcome or reward. Yes, BDO has higher difficulty zones like Aakman, but at its core its more of the same. Kinda like D3 in a way, where mob hp and dmg scale, but sheer number of kills always trumps quality for efficient progression. While other mmos do adhere to the rigid trinity of heal tank dps, and are arguably static scripted sequences, there is a sense of accomplishment that is more akin to traditional rpgs. I remember it was awesome just watching the story bits through the Icecrown raid before WoW jumped off a cliff in Cataclysm. And how the first guild to complete it got a temporary statue in town with their names and classes. Bdo's lore is ok, but the narrative is pretty weak and hardly memorable so far. Dont get me wrong, I like the game. Just struggling to justify playing it atm given the enormous time sink to get anything meaningful done. Been dipping into BnS a bit, and waiting anxiously for Lost Ark and Bless to go open beta. Cheers man o/

I am at 490 energy atm, and I have seen some videos and sites that shows some knowledge that does not show in my own knowledge base. maybe i missed it. what are you spending your energy on exactly? i saw annotation @30:28 that says if you waste energy you lose silver per hour. and if you use energy you lose silver per point of energy... is this explained somewhere?

that's just on selling your energy based on the price at the time. if i used it actively and brainrotting tedium-want to shootmyself at 100% efficiency then it goes up a lot more though I don't think anyone would be thrilled at chatting with NPCs 6-8 hours a day or gathering 6-10hours a day, or even gathering water but depends what you do with it. or you could be just hyper lucky on nightvendor rolls but that's rng

Hey Kyrandis, how do you feel about leveling up gathering nodes? Especially the ones you'll most likely never drop - such as the Trace of Savagery one (Lynch Farm Ruins). I've noticed quite a difference in drops, often recieving 5 traces in a single trip from my worker there as it is level 9 now. Having invested in grinding nodes to lvl 10 completely I have little to do with my alt's energy other then the black stone vendor or shoveling whenever I have too much time. Thanksu.

i ran from trader to trader, main town traders selling repeatedly. some would also prefer rolling velia to nearby subnodes with as much inventory filled as possible, others do trash crates and mass dunk them into a trader but costly imo.

i don't really get this. when i press on northern wheat plantation for example, it doesn't show me any sub-nodes. when you press there you get barley, wheat, etc.. i want that too :( it would allow me to make more beer, cuz the nodes around velia aren't really enough for my daily cooking.

sulfur mines mobs rare drop, same with everything in that category per area. (hystria, aakman, pila ku, sulfur, quests in those areas etc.)

so you'll want trent workers for that, the mineral/wood shop can be anywhere the materials need to be in the trent and then your workers need connection to the town that has the mineral/wood workshop.

CP can always be refunded from everything you use it for, if you somehow lose it best to submit a ticket to support. fences will automatically be removed into storage if unattended for 7+days.

only 2 of my characters have max weight/invent, (valk, kuno), my tamer is only 1k weight and 100inven slots, all my other chars are 509-663-800weight(depending on gear) and only 59-76 slots. i mostly bought things on sale during event times. although it is quite a bit of money spent over the course of how long i've played it doesn't amount to as much as some other MMO games i've ever played after a while. i've only bought 3 packs of 100x artis memory over a course of months, after that tet bomb in the whatevers2 video i just kinda never bought im again. half the costumes my char have is where most of my money was spent and the other half of the costumes they possess is from marketplace bidding against thousands of others, some took 80-160 tries and others took as little as 7 attempts to get it. the other bits of money investment went into just pet collection and during events (hallowe'en pets, and lots of cats)

that doesn't make any sense, if i do 900 crafts of 5 each thats about ~3.4million silver thrown away every 900 from buying. My workers take 1 beer(zero cost or 2000silver if i buy on market) for 2 generations of the fruit every 16-20minutes per generation of 10-20 of them at a time and i don't have to run to calpheon.

So right now i am at the point where I need to go to Florin, find Keplan, and Calpheon I haven't even touched. Calpheon is gonna take ages to complete.

A few questions Have you noticed that you can skimp on ingredients when cooking and doing alchemy? If your skill is high enough you can save a ton of money mixing the super expensive stuff by taking one of two things out. at the lower skill levels though, there's a chance of it failing. How does one get an elephant? Is it some kind of guild thing? Do elephants carry more than wagons?

Jinxxed0 I've tried, most of the time I don't cut out mats since if I do 900-2000 crafts a single fail stops the whole thing rather than being able to afk. bb elephant is quest. carries less than a wagon.
