"Certain words you are not about supposed to say " ... like "Jul2". They obviously started with a Jul2 and worked at its greatest weakness: the lowering process. So I think it really is an improvement, but the grip comes with the downside of a bigger size (no problem in the gym) and a slightly higher price. As always a great video with exclusive content! Would be amazing to see the same for the new Megajul Sport and a video on new shoes 2017.

Looks like a direct copy of the mammut smart belay - I don't know when the mammut came out vs the Jul, but i've had mine for at least 6-7 years, and it has been awesome - double tube for auto locking rappel

I wonder if this could be used as an ascender in conjunction with a prusik and foot loops?

Looks like a Mammut smart with a shorter handle...

Benefit of using this over a clickup? The clickup seems just as effective and works with the same rope range. Also the clickup can be used backwards and it will still work as a tuber. The feeding seems better on the clickup too.

The biggest benefits will probably be price and availability. The Click Up is hard to find in the US and retails for $59.95 and the ATC-Guide will surely be well-distributed and will cost $39.99.

Salewa Ergo American Version. At this point, you might as well wait for Smart 2.0 and Click Up 2.0. because Mammut and CT are on their 2nd design iteration where as this is BD's first attempt.

Hehe. Future reference, Kolin Powick is the Director of all climbing goods at BD (he's also the guy who writes all the geeky QC reports).

Don’t know exactly what kind of noise this person was experiencing, but I did get a squeaky/stuttering noise from some ropes at the gym.
