Sarah Lancashire should be the next M in the up and coming James Bond. She's calm intelligent and very convincing. Who agrees

Yes to everything you said. You’re simply the best. So I’m back after finishing this show and so glad I watched it. Let me say I would watch anything with Ben Wishaw. He is fantastic and I agree the scenes where he is with Keira Knightley or the best scenes. I also was happy to see Andrew Buchan from Broadchurch, one of my favorites, and Sarah Lancashire. Really enjoyed it. Thank you Steve!

I loved how Sam’s “hardest job” was revealed to be him killing his own father.

I like your review. It was clear and linear, with insights. I enjoyed the series mostly because of its human flavor that gave this spy-action some heft. I hope season two is not disappointing.

I just finished binge-watching, and can't decide if I really, really liked it or just really liked it. What it has going for it is the buddy-relationship between Kiera and Ben's characters. I've never liked Kiera as a romantic-lead, so having her primary relationship be with a gay man (Ben) avoids her too-cute mannerisms. Also, the story was good--even though it was complex as hell at times--I still don't get some of the relationships. Finally, the scenes of the little London shops almost made me want to take another trip to the UK. Almost. What I didn't like so much was the story resolutions. The Sam/Michael story is sad, drowning in lies and love denied. Helen is the ultimate "sleeper agent"--it looks like she will be the PM's wife in a few months. And given Reed's heartlessness, there's no doubt that she will blackmail Helen to betray her husband & country time & time again. Speaking of Reed, I'm NOT convinced she's telling Helen the truth about Jason...that he loved Helen. My cynical view is that Reed is "laying the hook" to manipulate Helen. Finally, the story of Hector is confusing, and the comic relief of Williams & Eleanor is funny/awful. And, Wallace's love for Helen is beautiful--but somewhat unwarranted considering she was unfaithful.

I'd also recommend, The Agency. IMO, it's the Best spy show since "Homeland." Very current & smart storylines, excellent acting, and heart-stopping action.
