Thank you. You answered all my questions! I just purchased a gigantic One that is hanging in a pot. You definitely need a deck that's higher up🌺🌸 It was in the nursery so it was a little tired looking and I removed some of the dead stuff, but I had just gave it her some fertilizer and now I know I can leave those little pods. They're actually kind of pretty and they add some texture to the plant.

What NPK ratio is recommended for them? I have these plants too. Coming problems are chlorosis. It looks like a magnesium or iron deficiency to me. Probably from a tap water. Nutrient what I use is NPKMg 19-6-20-3 ratio, at the 0,65-0,75 gram per liter of water.

Is that just one plant? I have 3 seedlings growing now but am unsure if I'd need to plant more than one to get your look or if one is enough? Also, do I need to pinch it so that it will start branching rather than it just be one branch climbing? Thanks for your help! Beginner here!

The leaves on mine are drooping and falling off. The pot is small (about six inches tall and six inches in diameter) and the plant is about two feet high. The drooping leaves on the plant are not brittle. I water it 2-3 times a week. Am I over watering?

I grew this vine from seed here in the Miami Beach area beginning in early June. The seeds sprouted quickly and began growing up a trellis immediately. The vine is now about 10ft tall and fully covers the trellis. But there have been very, very few flowers. June, July and now August with lots of leaves but almost no flowers. I water, I fertilize but to little avail. I don't know what to think. Is the summer sun too strong here? I will leave them on the trellis and hope as we move into Fall that flowers will be more abundant.

I have found that the Black Eyed Susan Vine will not flower well in the heat of the Miami summer. I think this has to do with the very high night time temperatures we get June to October. The night time temperature never falls below 75 F. Starting in November when temperatures day and night decline, the vine started to bloom very freely. In December and January the vines were absolutely covered with flowers. I will see how this vine does as we head into the warmer months starting in March. I am sure it will stop flowering abundantly beginning in June. I will also be interested in how many months/years a single vine will live for.

Thank you for the update. Much appreciated. I had same problem, I grow them in the pot, after moving to west side of the house vs south they started to bloom like crazy.

Good evening. I was going to attempt to do just this with Black Eyed Susan Vine in an 18" container with a tomato cage as well. How many vines do you think that I should use?
