Yes, the 22-250 will spit it out. But at range, wind a is big issue.

So I have a question, do you think that the 270 Winchester is capable of completing this challenge?

It's 100% capable but bullet selection should be done carefully. HSM made (probably still makes) a 130gn Berger VLD load that should rock it. .270 is not favored as a long range chambering largely because bullet selection in the heavy for calibre match grade bullet segment is very small but that doesn't mean it's not totally capable of doing it if you pick the right bullet and get it moving fast enough.

meccastreisand I have a savage 110 in 270 is why I was wondering, if i could find a heavy barrel in .270 I was considering keeping this caliber. But there's several calibers I should be able to use with the same bolt right? (Just getting into the whole custom work thing)

The 270 is very capable, using the Nosler 150 ABLR or the new Hornady 145 ELD-X, 1000 yards is easily attainable. I'm sure there are other bullets that will get you there as well, those are just the 2 I've seen personally do it.

Anything based on the .308 or .30-06 case (.473" case head diameter) will work in your 110. You could even change the bolt head to a magnum and run stuff like 7remmag but probably not .300winmag. I use 7BR, .30-06, .460 Rowland, .308, all are on the same case head size. With .473" bolt face the world is more or less your ballistic oyster. If you like .270 there's no reason not to use it but you need to understand about component availability. Berger makes some amazing .270 pills that would do fantastic at long range. If you like .270, use it. Just being uncommon is not a contraindication.

a generous 10 minutes. It's 10 shots in 10 minutes. Two attempts max per day with 30 minutes in between.
