Very sad, and at this rate there wont be much of it going forward. Just talking to people I know who work at stores that actually sell physical media, it's all but dead to them(the higher ups) . They dont expect Best Buy, Target, you name it to carry any physical media in the future except maybe .....yes vinyl lol. So no 4k blu Ray's, but records smh. Streaming is cool, but hard to believe it is basically ending hard copies.

@@droidtales9966 and I'm with you, I still listen to cds lol. But it's not looking good . There has to be justification to make hard copies,and that is dying . Even gimmick steelbooks isnt helping much. Strangely vinyl is the one that's doing fine . I dont personally get that one, but that's what it is. 4k blu ray's arent doing as well as vinyl, people arent buying them. It's crazy to me

When physical media is literally dead, what you can do is torrent movies/tv series in 1080p and put them on blank DVDs. That way they can't be taken away like in streaming. And if you feel guilty just buy em on streaming.

@Mad Media To be fair, physical media sales skyrocketed this year due to the lockdowns, so that’s part of the reason why there’s such a bad selection this year. Unfortunately, this will likely only be a short term boost though.

I would say though that, even though we have not gotten a lot of new movie releases this year due to most theaters still being closed because of COVID, it has been a great year for catalog titles being released on 4K. Plus, the LOTR trilogy on 4K and “Tenet” on 4K to cap off the year.
