Always wanted the Tundra High Lift. Loved rc airplanes when they were made of fiberglass, carbon fiber and built up wood/balsa, Now mostly made of foam. Excellent video Fil! Thank you for showcasing all these great rc products.

I saw the deals on Tamiya kits, sadly the budget is shot and I have to pass on them but they did have some great deals! Amain has so much on sale right it is crazy!

Do you have any good value Radio system suggestion? my fs-g7p broke down and don't wanna risk again to buy another one. thanks
@poorboysrc5 күн бұрын
Absolutely! As mentioned in the video, the Radiolink RC8X is a great pick, but the price point is around $400. On the value end, check out then the RC6GS. All are mentioned in the vid. The RC6GS is only $105 and it's awesome!

Unfortunately, us Canucks can not order off of Tamiya USA, unless we have a US address and credit card. Those hi-lifts (Hilux, Tundra, F350) have been discounted for a while now (499 CAD) on GreatHobbies and ERC. I just picked up a Hilux from ERC. As for other Tamiyas, GreatHobbies has some decent discounts on quite a few kits.

@@misterfujixman6991 it's infuriating that we can't order from Tamiya USA. It's not like we're on the other side of the planet, lol!
@misterfujixman69916 күн бұрын
@@poorboysrc Agreed. However, i am sure we would end up paying customs/duties for anything we ordered, making it not worthwhile in the end.

Have you figured out how to buy from Tamiya USA with Canadian credit cards or Canadian Paypal?
@poorboysrc6 күн бұрын
I did reach put to Tamiya and they said they can only sell to US buyers with a US credit card and address. Seems a little dated of an excuse to me, but what do I know? Only way to do it would be to get a buddy or family member in the USA to order it for you and ship it to their address (Tamiya offers free shipping over $50), then they send it to you and you reimburse them. By the time that's all said and done, some savings will be lost, for sure! 😢
@canuckchuck88366 күн бұрын
@@poorboysrc Yeah...I tried to hack the matrix with no luck. Shipping and billing addresses must be the same. The whole distributer exclusivity (monopoly) we have going in Canada is maddening. There are some Tamiya items we simply cannot buy locally in Canada because our distributers do not carry them. We cannot buy from Tamiya USA so we are stuck importing or eBay hunting for stupid things like wheels, tires and upgrade parts. I will stop the rant...for now. 😋 Another method of getting things shipped across the border is using a service like shippsy...$8+tax for 10lbs to Ontario. So, have the buddy or relative ship to the shippsy warehouse in the US for next to nothing then have the package arrive at a pickup centre in Canada. No duty on RC vehicles...for now.
@poorboysrc6 күн бұрын
@canuckchuck8836 that's a great hack, my dude. We do something similar here on the Island. USA orders, ship to a spot called "Seawings" in Port Angeles. Seawings imports to B.C., then we pick it up at the airport. Its about the same price as yours, too. Waaaaay cheaper than paying those silly UPS "brokerage" fees. Don't even get me started on that money making racket! 😅🤬

I want the OG Traxxas Jato nitro not the new so called electric Jato. The prices of Tamiya USA are way over priced. Get to Japan you will love it or anywhere in Asia is cheaper daily. Then you can enjoy a holiday and bring back some nice RC's.
@poorboysrc6 күн бұрын
I shop at Plaza Japan all the time and I see their prices are really good. They're starting to increase now, but for the past few years, they were outstanding. I'd love to go to Asia some time. Unfortunately, my back isn't gonna allow me to get on a flight that long. Hopefully it continues to improve and we can consider flying there. I'd love to see Japan!
@kanenstuff6 күн бұрын
@poorboysrc the prices online are OK for sure, but at the shops their it's super cheap. When you see 300 in the top right corner of a tamiya part or hop up, that's the price in Yen, so that's 3 bucks AUD. Hope your back gets better soon, I have never had a long-term back issue but as a skater for 30 years, I've had many issues, and it's not nice.
@poorboysrc6 күн бұрын
@kanenstuff There's a fella in the PBRC Fb group who lives in the Phillipines. He pays peanuts for Tamiya and Kyosho parts. Nearly free shipping, too. Ah, so jealous! I lost the genetic back lottery when I was born. Then decided a few concussions, whiplash and a broken tailbone would be a great way to break myself in while learning how to snowboard in the 90's. Add a car accident where my airbag was faulty and didn't deploy (that one hurt!) and finally, the finisher, 4 compressed disc's, one of which popped out and hit my sciatic nerve (most pain I've ever been in!), and this guy needs to take it easy on the ol' back. Being a big guy doesn't help, either. Gravity is relentless! Haha. 😅
