Kitty Mervine sadly, state/federal laws will not let them donate anything that is damaged. And the foods being thrown away is from "fresh to sell dates". So, the food is "not fit for sell". But, water? Back when I was an older teen going through college, I was a waitress. I had a dog so one night I made a doggie bag for him of left overs. Thanks to state laws, I couldn't take it out of the restaurant.

It is more expensive to donate goods than dispose of them because the company will get money back for the “loss”. Donating would require man hours and time. Both of which, our capitalist society, will not afford to lose.

That's why people like my fiance and I dive and donate. :) We call it our second job because it does require a lot of time but we are very happy to do it. A big THANK YOU to these greedy corporations for their "contributions" is what we always say as we're pulling away with a car full of goods.

Also you can hot glue any of it to mason jars for decor etc .. you can also arrange the pieces around a plain tray to make a beautiful tray for a vanity! There is so much you can do with this including framing a mirror for decor etc ! 💁🏻💕

With the broken jewelry I have a couple of ideas. First, the small beads can be used to fill the bottom of vases, jars, etc for a real ritzy look for silk or live flower arrangements. The larger dangling pieces can be used for Christmas ornaments. I just paid over $20 through Amazon for some dangling crystals and I would rather have the pieces you found to rework and add hangers to. On a lighted tree they would look gorgeous with the lights twinkling through the glass pieces. I used to be a semi pro crafter until I became disabled and I would have loved to go dumpster diving and find something like that bag. It would easily keep me busy for days figuring out what to do with everything. So, these are some of my ideas as to what to do with the pieces you found.

So when you find candles with broken glass on them, do you just bust the rest of the glass off of it and then put the candle on a plate and use it that way? Does the candle still look decent after the glass has been removed? Curious.

I am disabled and I do a lot of crafts to occupy my time since I am housebound. I take pieces of broken jewelry and make pictures of Christmas trees , etc. out of it. I cringed at the thought of you throwing it away as it is hard to find broken jewelry and it can be expensive if you do find any. Look on Pinterest and you will see what I mean. They really turn out pretty and since I have a small income I use them as Christmas gifts for my family. I just thought I would give you an idea like you asked. I just found your channel tonight and I loved watching you as I used to dumpster dive before I became disabled and I loved it. I am now a new subscriber to your channel. They usually only give out the free stuff to people that have large followings on Instagram! It is definitely not free, no strings attached. They send you product to show off on your IG so your friends will see it and buy it.

Tawny Horton That's not true..I don't post anything about the products they send me on Instagram. I got my first box a really long time ago and didn't even have a KZbin channel then.

You have to fill out everything on the site and click on the things you're interested in. Go onto the site and leave reviews on products they have listed that you've used before. I received boxes of stuff from them before I ever had a KZbin or Instagram account.

wow that is interesting! Every single time they sent me anything, they wanted me to post it on my Instagram.

what a shame they destroyed all that beautiful jewelry. you could totally make one of those christmas tree jewelry frames with velvet backing. and ad lights from the back and make it lighted! so beautiful. I hope i can hit the jewelry jackpot at a yardsale or something, so one day i can make one with my kids. tfs!😁
