Nobody will ever be more invested in the success and graduation of the recruits than his drill instructor. The drill instructors are tough, but fair, and are men who will not let a recruit down. If you WANT to be a Marine, and you give it all you've got, your drill instructors will be the ones who push you over the top to make sure you pin on the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor, with pride.

If you are unable to pass the IST, the recruiter isn't supposed to send you, but they still do sometimes. When I was there in '97, there was a special platoon for IST fails called PCP (physical conditioning platoon) where you will stay and work out almost every day until you can pass the IST. Believe me, between PCP and the training platoon, they will get you there. The physical part will be worked out both though exercise and special nutritional meals (I had those and they were still good).

it's such a nice warm welcome/ then daddy goes into his HUT! and his evil lil brothers destroy us lil step children until we cry and bleed and fart and whimper.. and then magically our daddy sometimes makes appearances and the evil step brothers are sort of passive and quiet... but then he LEAVES AGAIN and disappears back into his hut of silence and those evil step brothers of ours taunt us and yell @ us some more, but then 13 weeks later DADDY TELLS US THAT WERE NOW APART OF THE FAMILY!.... AND THAT THE EVIL STEP BROTHERS ARE NOW OUR ACTUAL BROTHERS IN ARMS!!!! and from here foreword we've earned the right to be called MARINES!!!!!!!! and we will never again be called STEP BROTHERS! BUT NOW CALLED MARINES!!!! GET SOME!

Right? Perhaps the drill instructors will make you dump all your shit in the middle of the squad bay and pour smell good and Listerine all over it--and just when you think hell couldn't be any worse, daddy will drop in to say hi, squared the fuck away with black belt and creases (the way he sleeps) and go weapons hot on those fucking drill instructors for being disrespectful.

SDI SSGT JACKSON!! Platoon 2156 of Golf Company, if I recall right, i was on the left side of the space. His favorite words to us were " You're either gonna be smart and disciplined, or fast and strong." Boot camp sucked, but the memories will last me a lifetime. The other DIs were SSGT Arellano, Sgt Havenaugh (i think thats how its spelled) and I cant remember my Kill hat's name, which is weird since he taught us almost everything we know. June 11th, 2007 two weeks upon graduation from H/S I went to Bootcamp. You learn a lot in the DEP and a lot in life through the Marine Corps. Contact a recruiter ASAP.

Not sure where you went through, but we were screamed at, intimidated, and everything else right from the second the receiving DI stepped on the bus and "informed" us that we needed to get off his buss and on to the little yellow footprints.
