It was actually a real shame after the game had been cancelled and they really make a fan who always waiting for the sequel were feeling so disappointed of the EA and Criterion works.

Still have this game. Beat it on all levels and unlocked everything. Had loads of fun discovering different ways to kill the enemy. Totally rocks after all these years.

Genuinely, this game is a pure masterpiece. The graphics, music, cut-scenes, player's voice performances, sound effects of firing, explosions, reloading, enemies responding to our grenades, their talks, etc. And most importantly the story maintained from start to end. I wish EA would release Black 2 for about capturing William Lennox ( who escaped the bunker ) Everything is done so accurately with perfection that its impossible to beat this game Black would never die!! 🖤

Has nothing to do with EA. EA is the video game publisher, not developer. Criterion was the developer of this game. They sell the idea and game to EA, and EA dumps all the money (basically) into advertising, mass producing the game, etc. But EA has never really "sucked." They routinely only work with good developers. You insinuate that EA sucks now, for some reason, yet you do realize they're the publisher for the upcoming Battlefield 1 game and have been working with DICE for years, right?

SatBluely Definitely, the game are way better than Call Of Duty and Call Of Duty 2. If only Black 2 happen with better storyline, multiplayer, awesome graphic which slightly improve than the first game and more mission, it would be way better than all COD series. So, Black > All COD game on PS2 Also, if Black 2 happen Black 2 > All COD series.

I still play this Awesome so underated game to this day on my original XBox console. I love the fact that the Xbox version has the custom soundtrack. I'm able to listen to my own downloaded music during gameplay. One of my favorite games of all time...5-22-2021

With the power the current consoles have they could take the kind of gun porn the original game had to a whole new level. Just imagine what it would be like with a chain gun and the impact it would have in a modern version of Black.

This game feels like the early 90s fps (like Wolfenstein for example) with just modernized graphic & ragdoll physic with death animation after all.. No jump. No open/close door feature, no sprint, no vaulting, no leaning. Nothing more, nothing else. Just a straight walk, aiming up and down & just shoot em up. FEAR came out a year before this and have much better & advanced feature, let alone the graphic. Though, this game is still decent and worth a try for anyone who are into the nostalgic feel of old FPS gameplay flashback.

One of the best shooters ever. They have the source code literally sitting still, why not go for a PC port and make tons of extra money out of it? Dumb publishers, stupid bloated companies... They're out of touch of what gamers actually WANT and would pay hard cash for it. Hell, they wouldn't even need to pay labor to port the source code, I'm sure fans would be more than glad to do it given the tools to do it.

Now that Criterion is back to EA, they should consider remake this game for the PS5 and Xbox Series X. But i doubt about EA's intentions between it. You know they always want us to spend a lot of money out of our credit cards, just to get more episodes, characters or even a DLC. So i would say i feel 50/50 about a remake for the game.
