They are just curious and want to know the differences in how other people do things. There is nothing funny. If you want to know, then ask. It’s the best way to find out if you ask the people directly rather than hearing rumours. The main difference is some questions can seem a little personal to strangers especially when they ask about marital status and other family questions.
