GORGEOUS work, BUT, although Dia De Los Muertos & Halloween fall close to each other, they’re not the same thing & that means that painting your face like a calavera (skull) if you’re not Mexican or Latin is inappropriate & disrespectful to our culture. Calaveras are important to us because of what they represent. they’re not a costume. We paint our faces like skulls to honor & remember the dead. It’s a way to keep the connection with our culture & ancestors alive. Once again, it’s not a costume. & no, it's not that we don't want people outside of our culture to celebrate, we really do, we love it when people get into the spirit, but we also want you to know and understand why we take time to celebrate & honor our dead & why we make altars and leave them offerings. & the best thing you can do to honor this is to educate yourself. Listen to your Latino friends & make an effort to understand & get familiar with our culture. The level at which you engage will determine if it's appreciation or appropriation. If you only celebrate to paint your face like a skull & get selfies, please just dont. If you choose to celebrate, keep in mind that this is an important day for many of us. If you really want to connect with our culture & honor it's traditions, do your research. The face painting isn't just a "look" and it's definitely not a Halloween costume.

Great talent yes nobody is hating on that what I I don’t like is how he’s gaining views and likes from Mexican culture. At no point in the video did he give a background history of Dia de los Muertos or anything or give respects to Mexican culture and to make it worse he uses it as a Halloween mask (Dia de los muertos is not Halloween) and to the people in the comments if you don’t have culture you’ll never understand! 👎🏽👎🏽

Im part Mexican and an FYI, Dia de Los Muertos is on the 31st of October, which is also the exact same day as Halloween. He did and amazing job and its showing appreciation and a tribute to my culture.
