Blackburn survived that fateful day 25 years ago to continue to serve. Following his recovery, he returned to his home in Pensacola, Florida and went into law enforcement. He worked with the Pensacola Police Department as a patrol officer, narcotics officer, and later as a school resource officer. Though his body healed, he, like so many others wounded in battle, suffered lasting effects from his combat experience. Blackburn left law enforcement to concentrate on his family and help other Veterans. His story of service and sacrifice is one of many from the Veterans who fought in the Battle of Mogadishu.

Being an Aussie, who's never been to the US..my money is on Chicago. Clearly this was a movie about the US military going in to clear out all the gang violence in Chicago..and disarm all the felons of their guns. I had expected to see far more pimped out rides being used as technicals, and as many Mac 10's as AK's.. But, (sigh!) when has Hollywood ever gotten anything THAT realistic.. And this whole movie, (while I'm sure they tried to make it look as much like Chicago, or any other Democrat controlled state in the US as possible) looks like it could've been all filmed in the back alleys of Morocco! Now that Biden/Obama have left the Taliban all of this stuff in Afghanistan, this could soon be happening again, but backwards, in a 'theatre' near you! Don't ever take criticism on owning your guns, from an administration that left a massive stockpile of modern US weapons & war fighting material of this sort, to international terrorists. Destroying every single ounce of good ITAR ever achieved, just for starters..worldwide. Haven't seen the new flick yet..'Civil War'..but I'll get there eventually..the reviews aren't exactly inspiring, and apparently neither is the plot or the experience. Sigh. Fast-roping into hostile areas is just such ball-brained Ranger shit. I spent most of my life trying to understand my uncle's mindset on things, but he was there during this operation, and did this shit. It's no wonder he is the way he is.

It was a few Malaysians attached to the 10th Mountain Division. 114 were Malaysian out of around 3000 total troops. Of this relief force 1 Malaysian, 1 pakistani and 2 Americans were KIA

Gotta love Hollywood. Everybody has rifles, they are like 100 feet from each other, nobody can hit a damn thing

Try hitting a moving target while being shot at during a mission where you can lose your life at any moment. You do realize everything here happened in real life right? Didn't know Hollywood had the power to rewrite history.

You have a clip called "Touching Down" and you start 15 seconds after the Delta guys actually touch down and basically take all the wind out of it. LOL. Why do these clip sites always suck like that?
