I really like this pattern. Thanks Sir Matt. Nice to see where you came from to now.

Another great video Matt, thank you so much. As a new fly fisherman, it was actually the tying that got me interested into fly fishing. I learn so much about tying from your videos and I cannot think of a bettter feeling of know that you caught a fish with a fly that you made yourself. More vids please!! Maybe the history of the fly? How it's used or normally used by fishermen etc.

Stephen, thanks so much for the encouraging comment! I'm actually on vacation right now, and fished one of the small Shenandoah tributaries this morning. I caught a couple decent brook trout on the hot wire prince I tied a couple weeks ago. And yes, it's exciting! I definitely want to start adding some histories to the flies I make videos for. I'm hoping to do that on the blog-- it's just taking me a while to get to it! Thanks again for the note. :-)

Very impressive tie Sir. Man that is tiny. I can truly respect your tying ability on this one for sure. Impressive in many ways. Great video. Thank you Matt.

Matt, you are doing a good job tying these midges patterns. Maybe you do a video if I send you some size 30 Hooks. :-)

Ha! My old eyes can't see anything smaller than a 22. I can't imagine trying a size 30. Holy cow. :-)

I once tied a perfect looking Royal Wulff on a size 32, and caught a state record brook trout on it. Then I woke up, and realized I was late for work.

Ha! Super cool bug. I'd even fish it it as wet, looks like a micro bugger. Thanks for the fishing tips, my eyes are old too. :o)

Oh man, I haven't seen this video in a LONG time. I hesitate to watch it now as I'm sure it'll make me cringe. But I can tell that's a tiny bug. That ostrich herl looks huge so I'm guessing (without rewatching it) that that was on a #20. :-)

@@SavageFlies It popped as a suggestion, thought it'd be fun to watch after listening to that podcast. Trying to stay warm, 3 degrees with a good wind. "Feels like" temps tomorrow -20 to -30. Frost bite after 5 to 10 minutes on exposed skin. 🥶

@@joeduca8582 Good golly! We’re panicking around here because we might get 2-5 inches Sunday, with a high in the mid 30s. ⛄️🤣

@@SavageFlies Ha, cool emoji. Yeah, hang on to Miss Molly! Actually wasn't that bad this morning taking the K9s out at 6 AM despite the -5 real temp, not much wind - that's the killer. Still the wind chill is -20 😱 I didn't stay out more than 5 to 10 minutes. See ya later!🏖
