Black Hills BDR-X 2023

This is my trip down to the Black Hills South Dakota to ride the BDR-X route. I met up with my buddy Rod from Manitoba and we spent 7 leisurely days on our DR-Z400's completing the loop. A big shout-out to the folks who put this route together, it's truly a gem of a ride.

It actually looks like I'll be back out there next week with the Yellow Donkey, it's definitely one of my favorite riding areas!

Good video! FYI, the BDR folks did not put this together. They "partnered" with the DAKAL developers to use DAKAL as BDR. DAKAL was developed to help raise funds to maintain and keep trails open.

Nice video. Can I ask what month you did this? I am planning on going out this summer thinking July?

Thank you! It was the last 2 weeks of September, would recommend this time of year due to less tourist traffic and easier to find lodgings.

What trail pass/es did you have to get and where did you get them? I'm planning a trip for next year.

We just picked up the Forest Service Motorized Trail Permits, that way we could explore anywhere without worry. I think we got ours at a gas station, they are available everywhere.
