I am finding the Matrix to be more and more versatile. Got a little sample pack project coming up with pads from it. Sounds cool? You can connect: instagram.com/bobeats twitter.com/bobeatsmusic and facebook.com/bobeatsmusic

The matrix brute is looking more appealing now that it dropped from $2,300 to $1,500, but I'm still not 100% sold.

Had the matrixbrute for over 6 months now and I must say its the most awesome monosynth I've ever experienced ... this synth does dark and alien like nothing I've ever experienced ... and yes external effects can add or totally change the output but even on its own ... this is an truly awesome device

Bo! Great demo! I love how you are pulling in everything to show the options and versatility added with Eurorack.

I have found that most mono synth pads sound more like drones. If your looking for lush moving pads that have layered triads and base notes use a poly synth like a Prophet or better yet a digital synth like a Yamaha MoDX where you can layer a ton of evolving voices. I find mono or paraphonic synths like the Matrixbrute or Moog more suitable for leads, bass or sequenced runs. The right tool for the right job

Agree, that is what I see as well with my Jupiter 50. The pads are multi timbral stacked sounds often the top layer is a string sound of some sort.

Just adding a slow subtle vibrato (lfo>vco) against a stereo delay will make most pads sound huge

just a heads up for anyone wondering about the Black Hole DSP II and the Malekko 8nu8r (attenuator) here. The Black Hole DSP II does have a CV input level on the panel which does the same thing. However the 3 parameters CVs don't so something like the 8nu8r or other attenuators would be useful for scaling your modulation into the FX ... and some great sounds here Bo! Almost like the PS1 loading screen wash of sound in places, really cool.

One of my fav synths on the market, still figuring out on how I can justify buying one.

That's one beast of a synth! Lovely vibe in the pad Bo! Detuned synth + the crush effect rocked! Good pace in the video!

Very nice Bo. It’s interesting to see how to create analog pads / drones with different gear. I will be making a quick video next week on how to make cinematic drones with the Korg Monologue. I will ping you when it’s up on my channel.

Nice! The MB is really a big synth that needs fx to really shine.....like old moogs arp sequential or eurorack vco modules etc . I’m surprised you did not used the MB cv gates possibilities for sequencing the eurorack fx with the great arturia’s sequencer! Ok, but now we need to know : now you got a lot of gear, controllers, hardware synths, desktop machines, eurorack systems, plus all the gear for shooting your videos etc etc HOW MANY HOURS PER WEEK FOR CLEANING AND DUST REMOVAL? ;) everything’s glossy, clean, shiny.....gosh, my matrixbrute looks like a punk cave, my modular system is all grey...;what’s your secret BO? ;)

You would certainly hope so given the size of the thing

Noodled on it in the store (before deciding on the Subsequent). It is a hardwired modular sort of speak, one of the most impressive synths out there at the moment. Click the link and you'll hear another great demo of the MB. kzbin.info/www/bejne/b3ObiZZteMd6qZY

Title should be: BLACK HOLE DSP2 tested with Arturia Matrixbrute. Also: mixing the oscillators/FX correctly is crucial making the Matrixbrute shine and sound lush (it is not inherently dull IMO).
