Randy you most definitely have the best and most informative fishing channel on KZbin in my opinion. And a big reason is because of videos just like this one that most other pro anglers don’t even mention, let alone go into detail about. Never disappointed.

Black is a great color for hard baits too. I do great on a little black crankbait in lots of different water colors. Rattletrap too! Of course top water black is always a good choice.

Couldn’t agree with this video any more. Thank you for showing love to the dirty water system guys. Living and fishing on the river makes some days just flat out tough when the water gets too murky and black is the only color we can use. I try to just load em’ up with rattles too.

Great advice Randy. Thank you. I would only add that for us maniacs that love night fishing, black is the best. Weather it be slow rolling a single blade "thumper" spinnerbait over cover on the bottom, or a Chatterbait for 6-10 ft, or a black buzbait , or my favorite, a black Jitterbug over stumps in two or three feet of water. In 1974 a friend took my out on Percy Priest night fishing for the first time. I caught three that night, between 4 and 6 pounds on a black Jitterbug. I always have one tied on when Im night fishing now.

Bass aren't nocturnal, they are diurnal; they work during the day and sleep at night, so what do you fish at night for? Swamp ghetto catfish?

Under the right conditions as you said…… MegaBass makes…from the Vios collection Power up Edition 4” Spindle worm HI-Float in Black Beer color. Amazing plastic but they’re obscenely expensive(sold in a 3 F.F.S.😂) and hard to find. It’s just a collectors item now sadly but another Company should copy the designs. My all time favorite Wave Fishing/Wave worms makes(made…might be permanently discontinued sadly) a creature bait with 4 arms and a paddle tail. The bottom arms are smaller paddles like the tail. It’s molded black on one side and dark blue on the other side with relatively large glitter specs. Amazing creature design and awesome color. I wish I had 1 thousand. You can rig the Wave bait a plethora of ways of course but a Texas rig makes white stripped bass go nuts on the drop like a wacky worm rig. Godspeed

Was hoping you’d be talking about the Murray scope-athon again. Zona and the boys gaslighting us about how the young guns are still great anglers even without FFS literally while we’re looking at a split screen of two of them staring at their screens. Trey McKinney said he “doesn’t know a thing about catching fish on herring lakes” and yet here he is absolutely blasting them on a topwater he’s casting to fish he’s watching on his TV and not even watching the blow-ups which, as I still believe, is the reason we all started fishing in the first place. It’s a weird damn coincidence that these guys got so “good” exactly at the same time FFS took over. 🤦♂️🤦♂️

Those black salamander lures work great in muddy water, you know it’s good if it was able to catch a semi-lunker while I was passing through a fishing hell hole like Arizona😂😂😂 he was thicc👌too, with two c’s lol! However, I think they work best in muddy bayou’s & murky water ways down south.

Color is the LEAST important factor...... Weather Time of day Location Water column Sound Vibration Speed of retrive .... All are more important than color. Another overrated factor? Lure size. Size matters for casting much more than catching. Good casting leads to good catching..... So, size does matter to the fisherman, but not to the fish.
