@@james_crow2352 nice work. Question. I have some bm ipper drop moint 1986 cutlass supreme. I put them on and my upper adjustable to long what do i do? I have upper and lowe adjustable trailer arms .stock length do i adjust the upper ones? Thanks.

@@soulessm8015 whats up! If your upper and lowers are stock length, and adjusted in to its shortest length but still too long, you may just have to adjust your LOWERS out until the rearend has a good angle at the cars highest lockup and lowest lay. In the video I had my car on stands with the rearend jacked up to simulate the car being slammed, that way I could climb underneath and check the angle of the rearend. Now if your uppers are all the way IN and you have to extend your lowers, just try not to extend TOO much. You could put your wheels into your quarter panels towards the rear, and possibly pull too much of the drive shaft out of your transmission and it could fall out at some point "IF" you don't have a Slip-Yoke yet. If your uppers and lowers just won't give you the angles you need when up and down and STILL too long, you might just need different arms. My uppers and lowers are at stock length too, but I DO NOT have drop mounts on the LOWERS. My lowers are on the stock mount. Let me know if that all makes sense.

I had bought some weld in from BMH for my Fleetwood, have a 75 Caprice and I wanna try the bolt on version. Didn’t want to redo my frame from welding.

Yeah i don't blame you there. I believe the bolt in's will work for you, but not 100% sure. I've asked around but nobody I know has tried it yet.

James_Crow23 I’m pretty sure they will work. They make them for my model and as long as I put good grade 8 bolts in I’m golden. Just didn’t have the lock up I was wanting and I’m limited cause it’s a vert. Good video though.

Lol! Not at all man. Not sure if you watched the entire video or not, but there's a few times in there that I mentioned this was just a Mockup so I could get the car MOBILE to drive it next door, put it up on the lift and do the rest of it. That rearend is completely re-done now, painted, gold and installed with new disk brakes... Everything you saw in this video was temporary until I could get the whole car up in the air, on the lift, at the Bigger Shop.

Very welcome man! Hope it helped. The G-body setup is very similar, although I can't remember if the website has a GBODY option or not. I believe it does but I can't remember. My coils are about 6 or 7 inches tall also because I refuse to lose my lay due to my bridge, so I cut my original precut coils shorter and I have no issues whats so ever.

I'm sure you can depending on how high you go. If you don't go high enough, I could see either your pinion angle being Way Off, or your rearend being pushed back towards the rear bumper... To avoid that problem, I'd just purchase so adjustable trailing arms to go with the drops. It'll make the install SOOO much easier. 👍

@@marcustellez6563 On black magics website, they sell lower drops as well. But they don't bolt in. Your lower mount will have to be relocated. Not HARD to do, but welding is definitely needed. Problem with drop mount LOWERS is that you lose your lay out when the car is at its lowest point. They'll literally touch the ground.

I actually didn't measure. When I put it all together, I looked for the best pinion angle at full lock up and completely laid out. When all was said and done, I was happy with it where I stopped. I "DIDN'T want my rearend pushed back towards the rear bumper though. I do know the lowers are stock length and uppers are shorter because the drop mounts call for shorter uppers, im just not sure of the exact measurement.

So sorry for the delay man. Hadn't seen your comment til now. But I believe there's an option for the caprice/impala NOT THE X FRAME... Thats the one I picked. I didn't pick the Cadillac ones. And I believe the drop mounts only come in 4 inches for the top.

I'm almost positive the vibration comes from bad rubber bushings in your upper or lower arms or your drive shaft. Shaft could be pulled out of the trans too much when locked up, that'll cause vibration. An unbalanced drive shaft will cause it. And those pivot joints in the rear end will cause it as well. Check all of those and lemme know what you find. Do you have a slip yoke?

If your pinion angle is REALLY off then yeah thats correct. But you can tell by locking your car up, having someone sit with their foot on the brake in drive and reverse while you look under the car. Let the car SLOWLY inch forward or back wards while you look to see if the U-joints bind up while car inches in either direction. "IF" this is the case, then drop mounts won't correct it. You'll need adjustable upper trailing arms. If you have NONadjustable arms and you add drops, it'll tilt your reqrend toward the floor of the car. Drops won't fix vibration or pinion angle, adjustable uppers fixes pinion angle and a few different things can fix vibration.

You're absolutely right! 🤣 I take it you didn't watch the entire video and hear me say I'm just getting the car MOBILE so I can take it to the big shop next door, put it on the lift so I can do the rest... 🤦🏾♂️ And I'm also sure you haven't seen the updated videos of the new rearend, boxed in, painted with an all new disc brake setup and GOLD slip yoke and drive shaft... lol! Car hasn't hit the streets yet man. I said in the video that once its at the other shop, ill even reinforce the part of the frame that had to be cut for the drop mounts to go in... I dont have a lift or a welder at the shop I'm building the car in. I have all the time in the world to work on little things as I go. No worries man! Calm down! It'll all get done eventually. I think I said at least 3 times that this is a Mock-up so you guys don't talk crap because I'm far from done... I'm doing the things I CAN do BEFORE I have to move the car to finish up the complete project. 🤷🏾♂️ But to make you happy, you're more than welcome to work on it for FREE just to make it look as nice as YOU want it to until "I" decide to put more time into it... Lol 😆

Yep! And allows for the upper trailing arms to travel Slightly further before they touch or rest on the frame. So yeah, but travel ain't the only purpose. Lol! For example, I had 14" strokes before drops with adjustable uppers. My uppers would rest on the frame at lockup. I put in the drops, swapped 14" strokes for 22" extendos (TELESCOPICS) readjusted the New uppers and lowers, now there's ZERO binding, and my arms aren't maxed out at full lockup. Matter fact, I could NOW run 30" strokes and not have a problem, but that's not the look or height I'm going for on my car.

@@james_crow2352 I had to install them because on 18’s the pitch was so bad you could not dump or lock up and drive. Now my lac has the worst body vibration you could imagine. But I also installed steel pivots aka centrifical trailing arm bushings at the same time. Pulled and redid the whole rear suspension. Frustrating my whip has been sitting untouched for the last year an a half.

@@THEOLYMPIAGUY360 😯 Year and a half!? Sounds like me. If I can't get it right, I won't drive it. Lol! But I have a buddy in Omaha that had the same problem with his cadi as you. He said he got rid of those steel pivot bushings, put better bushings in his upper and lower arms, and got a slip yoke. He said his car vibrated no matter WHAT he did at lockup, until he got the slip yoke. He said his vibration was from his Drive Shaft being So Far out of his transmission due to his 16" strokes, extended upper and lower trailing arms and stock shaft. When he changed to a slip yoke, his vibration went away.

@@james_crow2352 I have a slip yoke. I’m pretty sure it’s pivots. I live in the rainy state no shop no garage and I have a window of about 3-4 months out of the year of good weather to work on it. Problem is that 3 maybe 4 months is the time I have to get everything thing done I couldn’t do in the rain. I’m wondering if relocating my lowers would help. Vibration happens no matter the position. I could not get driveline to stay in without drop mounts which is kinda crazy because it’s the exact length of oem. Damn homie I just noticed is your name really Jim Crow.
