So let’s say I’m going from factory heights to 3” front lift and 2” rear I would just add an extra 2 length” to rear adjustable control arms 2017 Ram .Thank you very much for this video I don’t know how to adjust for a 2” lift in rear
@thecadillacdanshow86586 ай бұрын
You shouldn't have to adjust any of the arms for that amount of lift other then a front end alignment

Not gonna lie, I quit using this type because they come out of adjustment over time. Started custom making them so one side is stationary and the other side is free to pivot for easy 3. Make it harder to adjust but once it’s done, it won’t ever come out of adjustment and will pivot easier. Just my opinion. Following you now bro 👊🏻 support those that support you. Share the knowledge.

I have heard that before I never had a problem but I guess some do the other style makes it a pain in the ass to adjust but it will definitely never change once you set it that's for sure

Did you weld the pivots on the new arms? I just received mine(probably from same place. BMH) and noticed they were just in place. I'm attempting to do my 77 Monte today/tomorrow. The upper stock arms are already off of the car so getting it in place should be fun lol. Once those are in I will do the lowers...from same place
@thecadillacdanshow86583 жыл бұрын
No they are held in with a snap ring and then there is a miss alignment shim that slips in each side these arms were from BMH

If I install upper and lower arms with +1” adjustment how much will that affect the tire in the rear fender and also will that 1” have a effect on my driveshaft or is 1” doable without extra parts?
@thecadillacdanshow865810 ай бұрын
My normal rule if thumb has been for every inch of the lowers being adjusted takes about 2 inches on the uppers but I usually just adjust them to where I want everything and where everything cycles well that's one reason I like the turn buckle style arms so you dont have to take them off the vehicle to adjust them

Which trailing arm pushes the rear tire back towards the rear? Upper or lower trailing arm
@thecadillacdanshow86582 жыл бұрын
Both actually can the lowers move the axle back a lot more but if you adjust the uppers out a lot you will notice the axle move back a little

@thecadillacdanshow86582 жыл бұрын
If the frame is straight they should be very close to the same size on each side granted frames are mass produced and they are not exactly the same but really close

Can I use these in place of stock ones without drop mounts?

You can depending on how much lock up you are going with and it may cause drive line vibrations at a certain height

@thecadillacdanshow86582 жыл бұрын
Usually the uppers will just push the axle to one side or the other if you have adjustable lowers that can make it crab walk if they are not adjusted evenly

What about t\he suspension geometry changes when you make the arms longer and at what point do you need them? It pushes the driveshaft further into the trans right? Do you need them when you go up to say 14's in the rear with no chain bridge to drive locked up? I'm just now seeing them on low lows after being out of the game 20 years.
@thecadillacdanshow86582 жыл бұрын
It changes the pinion angle you have to find a sweet spot between being able to lock up with out putting a ton of stress on the ears on top of the differential and not having drive line vibrations. With the rear lifting higher it will push the drive shaft in the trans more it's best to get a slip yoke but you can also shorten the drive shaft a half inch to a inch
