For me is the perfect balance between DODHEIMSGARD sound and VED BUENS ENDE.I ve been waiting for this masterpiece to happen since the release of the A UMBRA OMEGA.I am glad to see people that actually know what good music that surpasses all genre barriers sounds like

Honestly… I would say easily one of the most interesting and unique bands to ever come out of Black metal. their career trajectory really reminds me a lot of Sigh. I’ll need to check this out.
@Dorei02 Жыл бұрын
I can totally see the comparison with Sigh: each album is a different new beast, but with a kinda similar undertone between them. Is not a different band each album, but rather a new face unfolding.

Its all about, ALL ABOUT, when you hear for the first time a song and without having before any touch with that scene/genre, your mind STUCKS for the rest of the day with that song, keep playing it in your mind whatever you do. That happend to me with "Halow".....damn now I have to listen ALL their works, cause that masterpiece came from somewhere at their past, right? The whole damn record, "Black Medium Current" is an orgasm of notes, atmospheres, feelings. I'm so glad that nowdays 2023 there are still musicians that have such a talent and giving us MUSIC. Best thing I heard this year.
@DamnableReverend Жыл бұрын
Ah. I listened to this for the first time last night, and it popped into my head: Hmm, i wonder if Metal Meltdown Robert will want to talk about this album? I'm glad to see you did. And, just as you mentioned "a bottle of red wine", I was pouring myself just that very thing. Now I think I'll listen to the album again. I've been into them since the late 90s and everything they do sounds different from what came before. The only album I didn't care for right off was Supervillain outcast, but even that one has grown on me a lot. Aldrahn's incredbly unique and versatile vocal delivery, their influences from all sorts of styles of music pulled into this heaving mass of dark chaos, their unpredictability, their atmosphere, always makes them a great listen. And the atmosphere on this new one is so huge and immersive. The sound is incredible, with the ambient synths adding so much to everything.

Last week was kind of perfect. Saw Vicotnik with one of his other bands, Dold Vorde Ens Navn at the Inferno Festival here in Oslo and then just 6 days later he drops this masterpiece which might be my favorite album so far this year. What a genius wierdo he is.

Checked out a bit of this album but have yet to finish it for some stupid reason (been busy this weekend lol). It's really sick so far, and I was NOT expecting that rating lmao. Super experimental and unique without being too weird for its own good. EDIT: Finally heard it in full, damn that was sick
@themetalmeltdownofficial Жыл бұрын
Honestly me neither lmao, but it earns it. Not gonna bother calling something perfect unless it truly is perfect, otherwise the word loses meaning.

Never heard about this band before, but I'm beyond stoked to give it a listen based on everything you said.. Sounds like absolutely up my alley, and I even got some strong Mastodon 'The Czar' vibes by listening 'Det Tomme Kalde Mørke' as I write this comment, which is basically the pinnacle of compliments in my book :)

I've been following Metal Meltdown for the last 2 years and I think this is the first album getting a 5/5. Is that right? If there has been any other 5/5 before, can you please indicate which one was it? Thanks and keep up the great reviews!!
@UneasyMonkey Жыл бұрын
He gave Imperial Triumphant's Spirit of Ecstasy a 5 last year. I think there was another 5/5 in 2022, but I'm not sure. Maybe Blut Aus Nord?

@@UneasyMonkey You are right! I didn't remember that one by Imperial Triumphant probably because I never really got into that album. Too dissonant for my taste :) Blut Aus Nord rating was 4.5

It`s a killer :) I was a bit surprised liking this so much as I hasn`t been into them much after Monumental Possession. I know a lot of people like 666 International, but I just could not get into that sound. Anyway some of the members side-project Dold Vorde Ens Navn with their masterpiece Mørkere (from 2021) made me interested again. Also a great release.
