This was the most enlightening thing I've listened to in awhile... Really got me thinking. My father was around, but came home late and left for work early, so we really only saw him on weekends. 95% of my upbringing was my mother's doing - and i believe she did try very hard to instill the values a young boy requires to become a man for my brothers and me. However, i did absorb a substantial amount of that toxic female drama programming that eventually put me at odds with her. We couldn't stand each other through my teenage years... My father even said at times "you two scream and argue like some teenage girls". If it wasn't for him, she would've kicked me out the house when i was 14 - as she tried to convince him to throw me out constantly, but he wouldn't allow it. Mind you, i wasn't an awful kid. Didn't do anything crazy or get in trouble at school or anywhere else... We just fought like females fight, lot of mind games and character assassination type drama. I think we hated each other because i was essentially a mirror version of herself. My father, former Marine and Police Officer, had his own trucking business at the time, and at a critical point in my late teens he had me go to work with him everyday hauling steel for most of the year. Being around him all day, seeing how he worked, how he carried himself and how he dealt with others, was vital. He delivered so much knowledge. And i soaked it up like a sponge. To this day, he's my best friend. He has been there every time I've ever needed guidance. But it'll probably still be something I'll struggle with the rest of my life - those 16 or so years of only really having a negative attitude female as a role-model. But, at least I'm aware of it, so often times i'll catch it and realize "wait ... no, that's my mother's attitude affecting this." Women alone cannot guide boys into knowing and fulfilling their position as men. I thank God for my mother & father, but know i wouldn't be the wise, responsible man of God i am today without my father.

Dropped a like I don't agree with it all but you got the right idea. Life's ultimately about doing the right thing and when you try to put people in boxes and assign certain roles based on gender you're minimizing people's ability.

Bread, you need to drop your analysis on this Brian McKnight situation dealing with his kids.. His concerts are being cancelled etc. because basically the free handouts are done now he’s the bad guy etc. He said his children who are now adults came from a place of sin and they are behaving is evil.. So break this down for the audience. My opinion there’s only so much you can take or do for people even if they are your kids.. People think you have to put up and deal with certain behaviors and sht.. And we all know if they are being groomed and living with their hell of a mother’s a lot of us men don’t have chance to reverse the damage that’s been done… So I need you to dig into this topic if you can.. I think people will like it.. I’ll drop a few links from Brian talking and others giving their opinion..
