That ending messed me up real bad. I couldn't sleep. What an amazing episode of black mirror.

Possibly my favorite episode of Black Mirror, along with White Bear. It's dull, emotional and realistic. Truly captures the emotion of a broken relationship perfectly. And the ending of this episode? One of the most powerful endings I've ever seen, not only from Black Mirror but also from television itself.

the ending where he is going through the memories and then the cut to an empty house. I cried at the end lool

This composition was so chilling, felt such a connection with Toby Kebbell's character as he replayed those memories while drunk at the end of the episode. Brilliant stuff.

The portion that plays over the ending is so poignant, sad, and beautiful. Perfectly captures the vibe of pondering past memories. Incredible music for an incredible episode.

all stages of grief followed by a mental breakdown and then the realization . In the end, the part of becoming stronger . all the emotions are present in the music.

damn thats deep, i really wanna use this in a film I make, especially to the same effect as black mirror had. the one shot that stands out for me is when hes in the bathroom. that soulless stare when it cuts out from his memory is incredible

For those speaking of the ending and how he was looking at memories... he was actually looking at what was all a fabrication of happiness.... He saw that she had no love in her eyes, her mind was else where. The main reason why he watched the memories, was to destroy what he thought was to be true, mentally.
@ceeyourbeauty53977 жыл бұрын
Mr mysterious not true in the least. he was grieving for the life and love he used to have. she absolutely did seem like she loved him. who are you to act as if you know otherwise? people who cheat aren't all hollow monsters.
@dracoblack60117 жыл бұрын
I actually thought of that too. Her smiles looked kind of fake when he was looking back at the memories. Maybe it's true maybe it's not. Either way, that ending was crazy lol.
@James-sv6to7 жыл бұрын
I think that you're both right actually, they show you two separate memories on purpose, I'm assuming from different time periods. The first one showing the way she looked at him in the early stages of their relationship and then the second was used as a juxtaposition to see how she was no longer smiling/looking at him lovingly anymore in contrast to the beginning stages of their love? That is the way I've come to perceive it anyway:) Regardless, just an amazing group of scenes, with an incredible musical score.

James Davies That thought crossed my mind too because I believed the smiles at first and then they looked kind of fake. It was confusing but who knows lol

Oh the bull shit, manipulative games we play with peoples heart's and emotions. My ex did this same shit to me but of course don't have the technology to analyze it and really point out your spouses bull shit! Hands down my favorite episode. Sad I had to relate to this but it is what it is.

Probably reminds you of the song "gentle him of anxiety". The gentle cascading of dissonant piano melodies with a bed of ambient textural elements. Good ear. That's one of my favorite songs that I listened to back to back when I first heard it.

La melodía que empieza desde el minuto 3:13 parece una melodía perfecta para una persona desquiciada o estresada.

Question: what would you do? be honest with your answers.... this is the most fucked up episode i've ever watched, it had me gripping both my hands together...
@dr.smooth44157 жыл бұрын
I'd try and fight to hold on, hold on to something that was not real. But the memories make it real, I would try to forget, but the pain of looking at that child knowing it's not yours, the pain of looking at your wife knowing it only took a moment for her to shatter whatever bond you had. I would try to hold on, for despite what she did, despite the betrayal, despite the soul crushing realization, I still love her.

I just went through something similar to that of in this episode. My girl and I. I loved her so much but I always had a hunch and I always read into things a little more than it is. Just like the main character in this. Until 1 fine day. The evidence of my suspicions popped up undeniable. I caught her, not something as severe as seen in the episode but still it was bad. We had the most painful fight and I am still going through the break up now. The drinking, the repeated looking through photos. Omg this episode made everything so real again to me. Was painful to watch the episode really. 1 month since we had our last laugh as a couple and all I am left with are all the memories. Pictures and videos everywhere. While I feel so much pain to really want to just forget it. I just can't come myself to delete them and even if I did. The memories in my head can't be plucked out. What an episode for me to see. Especially going through this.
