black mist filters work best with scenes that have a fair amount of specular highlights. the bloom adds a nice filmic vibe that's difficult to add in post. if you're not shooting scenes with specular highlights, you won't really see much effect.

Makes sense as I know a lot of people swear by them but I wasn’t seeing a drastic effect when I was using them for landscapes. I may try them out again in the city to see how they react then

It doesn't make sense to me, spend a lot of money to get the sharpest lens and then spend more money to essentially degrade the image.

That’s a valid point and I agree based on my experience in this video. However some other viewers have commented that in certain situations the filter can produce results which are hard to replicate by post processing alone. I need to do more tests but I fully get what you are saying…
