I can see manual steering being a preference. Not sure what you mean by PVC, and why would your gas tank affect your driveability? You have me intrigued.

@@DustorBust actually, it’s my dyslexia. PCV. The new gas tank is just a clean vessel. And they are cheap. I kept trying to clean my old gas tank, which I still have in my garage for some reason, but when I put a new sending unit and gas tank in the car all contaminants are gone. Btw I’m enjoying your videos. I especially like your really creative engineering approach. Your car(s) is/are going to rock totally.

I prefer the taxi/cop car wheels in black. But the black looks good with the yellow.

Got a set of those for my 72 dart and the are very heavy for a daily driver they are good for a track car not so much do to weight.

Haha, I hope so also. Summit usually gets parts here pretty quickly. I have plenty of parts cleanup I can do. 😂 Got to love old rusty cars.

Good either way on the color but getting them widened is a better look and opens up tire options. But not inexpensive. In my opinion! Love the path and journey your on. Very cool! Hope you finish it and do another!

Hi Stan, thanks for the support! I appreciate you following along. Wider would be better, especially for the back. I know they make reproduction ones in aluminum and steel that are probably available in multiple widths. I am going to run these for a bit, but always an option to change down the road. 😁

@@DustorBust sounds like a good plan. My 69 cuda looks like a completely different car with 235/60 s. When the time is right maybe a few times you will swap combos. Maybe even back to the the talk skinny s.

Marcos, also KEEP the retaining ring from the sending unit. The aftermarket ones are problematic. My opinion is to clean the original one and reuse it.

Is there a metal recycler near you? If so, take those old-ass wheels there immediately. I have 17-inch front, 18-inch rear American Racing wheels on my '70 Super Bee and couldn't be happier. Great selection of tires available and the wheels really compliment the car. The 15-inch steel, green wheels I had before did nothing for the car. Your car is beautiful and great wheels will really give the car the "pop" that people remember. I'm not suggesting you buy spinners, just wheels that really compliment the car. Love your car regardless.

🤣😂 Metal recycler 😂 Yes, I also like the look of bigger wheels. I might do this down the road. I am over budget and need to cut some cost somewhere for now. This is an easy upgrade later. Also, since wheels and tires can have a pretty big effect on performance I want to get a cheap baseline data point that would say what direction I need to go. Thanks for the comment Ken!!

@@DustorBust if you're planning to paint the rally wheels black, I'd say a satin finish would look right. It would really set off any decals or factory stripes offered back in the day.

It is possible to widen those wheels if you can find someone that knows how. Black with the factory beauty rings would look nice.

I’m not a big fan of black rims, looks like your running a spare tire to me. You can get some 15x8 rallye rims from Summit. I run 15” on the rear and 14” on the front. 15” gives you more tires to choose from. Not many sizes in 14”.

Hey B Dubs! Spare tire 😂😂, I can see that. Yes, I think the front is 14 should be fine, but if I do want to get some performance tires I will likely need to get another set at some point. Good to hear from you bud!

@@DustorBust in a 14 a 235 or 245 is about as big of a tire they make. 15s you have more options. A 255 will fit and maybe a 275. 15x8 from Summit are a little over $100 each last I looked. Good to see your working on the car again and posting videos.

Are you going to run the centers and rings on the wheels? Black looks good if you go with satin instead of gloss, just don't EVER paint them the same color as the car, very bad.

​@@DustorBust I’m not suggesting yellow, but I think the original Duster 360 wheels were the same color as the car. I might be wrong about that. If anyone knows, please correct me. As for your car, much as I am a stickler for originals, I think the black looks cool against the yellow.

@@w2tty Hi Paul, I also like the black and yellow. 😃 These are actually the original wheels from the car and it seems they were painted the silver color. Most of the ones I have seen are silver, so I thought that was the typically factory design. The car was originally avocado gold, which was a not to my taste, so I went with the lemon twist which was available up to 1973, but not offered in 74.
