If you fail the rat prince fight the first time, you should be able to exploit it a bit. When you walk in again, hug the right side and walk behind the rat king. You can then either stealth attack or use a full charge attack, followed by immobilize. This will deplete most of, if not all of, his fairly squishy health bar.

Although you are right, it's better to let the son destroy the stone towers so the king is on the ground and stops his range attack and just runs around. Then get the son low health before you finish off the king. The difference in power of the son after killing the king is quite big so you want to kill him as fast as possible after he charges up.

You are WRONG about the staff upgrade materials. Gotta call this out. You need refined iron sand x4 for the staff. The boss behind the sand waterfall only drops 2. This material is very rare and players most likely won't be able to craft the staff until chapter 3. You can craft if b4 but it's a lot of extra effort (not detailed here).

also it’s not too extra but fun little side line story that makes the last boss fight for chapter 2 easier . If you complete the secret boss fight with the beetle you will be rewarded with refine sand and you can buy one in the same arena after fighting the beetle as well giving a grand total of 4.

NOTE - Fight that mini boss first before finishing chapter 1 as you might fight a secret boss that is related to that mini boss and it will be gone FOREVER. Also missing another secret fight chapter 2 with a stone monster (not the standard one). Which is a a quest within itself.

You missed a spirit. Right after the earth wolf around 8:23, there is a door passes the tied-up horse guy. Open it, and you will see the blue spirit. I don't want to spoil the surprise. Lol, let me know when you see it

You can go to any shrine and select retrive spirits, then you will get any spirits you killed but failed to absorb

So i did the fight with the rat prince and king as you said putting the prince super low then killing the king and finishing the prince I know I did it right as the 1st time i did it there was a cutscene of the king running off cause I killed the prince 1st on accident. I then hard closed my game and redid the fight the way I mentioned above after the fight ended I got no spirit or option to recover it.

You made a mistake involving the rat king and prince. If you kill the prince first a cut scene will start and the king will run away. If you follow the direction the king went you’ll meet his second son

You can still meet his second son by throwing a piece of his fathers meat down the ledge. Same fight, different story.
